She swallowed the lump in her throat, "I guess I owe you an apology. I'm sorry for what I did the other day."

"It's fine, Beth." He smiled, heart still tender and raw. Though he chose to ignore it. Instead he wrapped pulled in a tight embrace, to which she buried herself into the comfort of his arms. The pair staying still for only a moment, before pulling away, and smiling at each other shyly.

Phin chuckled, "You mind giving me a hand?"

Spending the rest of the day collecting supplies for Hershel, they decided sometime in the afternoon that another book was due. Prompting them to hole up in Beth's room and start reading the last of her books. They were novels, and very long, but they kept the mind busy — filled with different adventure.

The blonde sighed and fell back against her bed, "I think I'm getting bored of reading."

"Bored? Huh, that's a first." Phin replied as he looked up from his. It was a story about a boy and his dog. It was rather interesting, reminding him of his family pet when he was just a wee ol' thing.

"Wanna learn how to braid hair?" She asked.

Smirking sheepishly when he screwed up his face, and cocked a brow. Learn to braid hair?

"You're joking!"

"Fine, I'm going to ask Stephanie." Beth jumped off the bed, bounding down the hallway like her life depended on it. Searching for the said brunette, intently.

He sighed and whispered under his breath, "I swear she's just like an excited six year old."

Getting up from the floor he decided to visit Erik again, he'd been so preoccupied he almost forgot to check up on her. Hanging out with Beth was both a blessing and a curse, and he had to remind himself that she was still a teenager, in the new world — she was just trying to continue being a kid while it lasted. Full of energy and light despite the circumstances. The next few days were unpredictable.

Standing under the doorway to Erik's assigned room, he watched as Shane cradled her soothingly. Tenderly. He smiled as he leaned against the wall. Watching them both with a silly grin on his face.

"Hope I'm not interrupting anything." He whispered.

Shane looked up at the younger male and shot back a friendly smile, resting Erik's head against the pillow gently. She had seemed to doze off.

He spoke, "It's fine. She was just falling asleep anyway. She's still exhausted."

"I was just checkin' up on her, but seems you beat me to it."

"Sorry—"

"No need to apologise. She's in good hands, you're a solid man Shane. We've had our differences but...thank you for everything."

Before the said man could reply, Phin had walked off.
