Sanjana's POV

So as instructed by maiya, we picked our pots and headed for the beautiful and clean waters of river Yamuna. "I've been noticing that you and Kanha have come 'quite' close", Kirti started the conversation. I couldn't help from my cheecks getting red. "Your enjoying too much aren't you?",I said to hide my reaction. I couldn't believe she responded with a smirk. She really is Kanha's best friend.

We reached the bank filled our pots and decided to rest before we make our way home and I heard it. The most beautiful music - his laugh...

He was playing, pranking with his friends. His silk black curly hair swaying with the wind, the smile on his face, lit a thousand lights in my heart making it feel like it was melting...

"Isn't he look handsome, an epitome of beauty?" "Yes! He is...", I said with a sigh, after a few seconds I realised she was actually teasing me. I looked down covering up my face. Kirti burst out laughing...

"Hey, if you are done admiring him we can go collect some dry woods and some fruits from the jungle. I think it would be a great help for maiya. What do you say?",Kirti asked me. I replied by saying it wasn't the best idea since we don't know our way around here and woods are beautiful and magistic but also very dangerous. But when Kirti decides something no one can stop her doing what she wanted.

Kirti simply asked if I wanted to accompany or not. I couldn't leave her all alone into the woods so we agreed on my terms,"First of all we will stick together, second thing not going too deep, third important thing is return home before sunset, so we don't scare maiya". All she replied was,"Yes boss!",making a salute gesture. What will I do with this girl? I face palmed myself mentally.

As soon as we went in I had a very bad feeling about this. But I shaked that feeling off, placed the pot on the ground and started picking up some dry woods...

But when I turned around I couldn't see Kirti anywhere. I shouted for her  from the top of my  lungs but all what came back was defening silence. Sun had already stared sinking down. Panic started building in my heart.

Where is Kirti? "KIRTI!!KIRTI!!KIRTI!"I called out again and again but there was no sign of her. I decided to go deep in the woods but I couldn't go directly so I picked up a stone and marked a cross on the closest tree I could find. It would be easy for us to find our way home. Fear was increasing with every second that passed,it was getting darker and darker. I could hear all different kinds of growls in the distance, all the birds were returning to their nest and I was afraid to shout too because I didn't wanted to alert any dangerous animals out there. Tears slowly started dripping as Kirti was no where to be found...
