Chapter 20- Take a Breath

It was just another ordinary day for me when I woke up. I had a sickly feeling in me today but I pushed it aside and woke up in the arms of the man I love. We got up and had breakfast together before getting ready for work. We got dressed and headed to work early and we even stopped for coffee on the way. When we arrived at work we signed in before going off to do our own things. I decided to go see Becker in the armoury where we kept our little friends. And by little friends I mean our guns and/or knives that we have to mess around with in the range.
"Hello..." I say, sneaking up on Becker who has his back to me. He jumps and turns around with a smirk on his face.
"Hi" He says, returning to cleaning his gun.
"How's life?" I ask, jumping up to sit on the counter next to him.
"Pretty good. You?" He asks, glancing over his shoulder to me.
"Good. Good" I say, right as the alarm sounds through the building, alerting us to a new anomaly. I jump off the counter, and race to the control room hot on Becker's heels.
"What do we have Jess?" Becker asks, as we're the first to arrive in the control room. The others quickly join us and Becker hands out our black boxes and coms.
"I'm sending the details to the car's GPS now. I'm also pulling CCTV now" Jess says, typing away on the ADD. We check we have everything before we all run to the trucks. I hop in the driver's seat of one whilst Matt gets in the other. Stephen gets in besides me with Conner and Abbey in the back whilst Danny, Becker and Emily ride with Matt.
"Let's go..." I say, driving past Matt with a smile. We race through the traffic to the location of the anomaly which happens to be in a large warehouse just of the river.

When we arrive, Matt and the other just behind us, we all get out of the trucks and grab an EMD. I walk over to the others whilst radioing Jess.
"Jess, can we get the layout for this building please?" I ask, whilst glancing at Matt who nods.
"Sending them to Connor's laptop now" She chirps back. Connor grabs his laptop and gets up the plans for the building. We all scan over them before Matt dishes out the plan of action.
"Right, Abby and Becker take sector 1. Connor and Stephen take sector 2 and I'll take sector 3 with Emily and Kat and Danny just move between all 3." Matt says, pointing out the different sectors on the map. We all nod and walk inside, Connor grabbing the EMD on the way. Halfway through searching the building I have to stop as I get the sudden urge to be sick.
"You okay?" Danny asks, walking over to me as I take a few deep breaths. I shake my head.
"I'm going to be sick..." I say, running back outside and over to the nearest bush before emptying my stomach contents. Dany once again comes over to me.
"I'm okay..." I say accepting the bottle of water he hands me and taking a swig of it to rinse out my mouth.
"Matt...we're staying outside Kat is sick" Danny says over the radio making me hit his arm.
"Why'd you do that for?" I groan, leaning against one of the trucks.
"You shouldn't be in there..." He says. I shake my head and hand him my EMD before walking over to the bench behind me and sitting down. It's not long before the others ae joining us outside as the anomaly had closed and luckily, nothing came through. Stephen head's straight over to me.
"You okay?" He asks, sitting down next to me.
"I'm fine!" I shout, standing up and storming back over to one of the trucks. I get in the driver's seat and wait a few seconds, knowing that someone will get in. Stephen does alongside Danny before I speed away. We arrive back at the ARC shortly and I leave the others and head straight for my office. I lye down on the sofa and close my eyes. Not 10 minutes later do I hear the door open and close again. Someone walks in and sits down. I know it's Stephen as he sat down at his desk.
"I'm sorry..." I say sitting up – quicker than I would have liked.
"What's going on Kat?" He asks, concerned laced in his voice.
"I just don't feel well. I think I'm going to head home...are you gunna be alright getting a lift home?" I say, walking over to him and giving him a hug.
"Yeah..." He says nodding on my shoulder before we pull apart. I put on my hoodie and grab my bag ad car keys before leaving. I walk out to my car and get inside. As I pull out of the carpark, instead of going straight home, I stop off at the pharmacy. I walk inside and grab he one thing I need before paying and driving home.
When I do get home, I jump in the shower and relax a little before chucking on some lazy clothes. I walk back into the bathroom and take the test out of the packet before taking it. Once I'm done, I put the test down, wash my hands before starting the timer. I sit on the counter and stare at the test. 3 minutes later the timer sounds. I take a deep breath the steady my nerves before picking the test up in my shaky hands. I glance down and see that its...
