Good Things

Chapter 3

"Luce, have you thought anymore about having another baby with me?" Camila asks softly.

Lucy sighed heavily and ran her fingers through her hair. "You really want another baby, don't you?" She swallowed and closed her eyes for a brief moment. "Well, I don't think it is an appropriate time. Addison is still being needy, Braelynn is being a nightmare and Marley... she needs help."

Taking a deep breath, Camila looks down. "It will never be the right time."

Lucy took a deep breath. "Maybe it will be one day."

"No it won't, there will always be an excuse as to why it isn't the right time. I've been asking for three years and you've had an excuse every time." Camila responds, she felt hurt that Lucy kept coming up with reasons why they couldn't have another baby.

"Maybe I just don't want another baby." Lucy responded.

Pain fills Camila's eyes and she shakes her head. "Why would you get my hopes up then?" She asks weakly.

"I told you I'd think about it. I didn't think you'd get that excited about it." Lucy responded.

"Of course I'd get excited about the possibility of having another baby with you." Camila breathes out.

Lucy sighed and ran her fingers through her hair. "I'm sorry."

The younger girl just shakes her head. "Forget it." She mumbles before storming off.

Lucy sighed heavily.

"She's been telling me how much she wants to have another baby with you." Lauren says softly, walking over to Lucy.

"Well, I don't want one." Lucy responded.

Sighing, Lauren runs a hand through her hair. "Why not?"

"Because... I'm happy with the children we have." Lucy responded.

Nodding her head, Lauren sits down on the couch. "I think she just misses having a little baby around."

"Addison and Daxton are still little." Lucy responded.

"Not what I meant Luce, I think she wants to hold a newborn again." The younger girl says softly.

Lucy shrugged. "I don't know what to do then."

"What if she cheats on us because of this?" Lauren asks softly.

"Then we deal with it." Lucy responded.

Frowning, Lauren releases a sigh. "I don't want her to cheat."

"She'll do what she has to do." Lucy responded. "Besides, I'm used to it. She cheated on me with you."

"What's that supposed to mean?" Lauren asked, frowning.

Rolling her eyes, Lucy turns to face Lauren. "It means she'll cheat to get her way."

Lauren swallowed. "I'm scared."

Sighing, Lucy runs a hand through her hair. "I know."

Lauren pulled her knees up against her chest and hugged them.

"We'll figure something out." The older girl says.

Lauren held her hand out to Lucy. "I'm sorry she cheated on you when we were younger."

Grabbing Lauren's hand, Lucy shrugs. "Not your fault."

Lauren looked at Lucy, she felt helpless.

Lucy sighs and leans into kiss Lauren gently. "I promise."

Lauren leaned into Lucy and closed her eyes. "I'm sorry." She whispered.
