I can see what Chris and the class are scared about competing against our opponents.

They are talented.

Everybody in Wilson High's dance team seems confident with their fierce facial expressions and are mostly on cue behind Michael & Mikayla once the beat of Crazy In Love begins.

However, the spotlight is definitely something the leaders both desire and mainly focus on. I can tell by their body language.

Michael wants it on him, but Mikayla would go the opposite direction so everyone would watch her; to hide  the flaws of the backup dancers and the judges and audiences have all eyes on her. The high school jocks and teenage boys would whistle obnoxiously as she basically shakes her ass for a second before getting back next to Michael and performing.

"Is that even allowed?!" I whisper to Chris and he shrugs.

"Everyone loves them anyway; it don't matter. Rules don't mean shit to them."

"Damn," I sigh.

They are all doing the most. It was a great choregraphical performance, but some of their techinques didn't match the tempo or with their feet. The rhythm wasn't matching either. It was extremely off to me, especially being in the front row to easily see it all.

Were they even prepared themselves?

Isn't this a class performance anyway; not just the light shining on them two?

This is ridiculous...

"Wait a minute," Mya snaps her fingers to our group. "What song are we doing?"

"Um...shit. Which one do we all know the most?" Chris chews on his bottom lip nervously.

"Your song, aka my song, duh." I wink and Chris smiles.

It's the one song all of us together as a team could do without warming up or practice for it. It's simple and less challenging for the backup dancers, and it would give me the power to blow the whole room away and present to them what the new girl has in store.

"But...nobody knows it." Chris sighs.

"Now they will." I proudly say with a smirk.

The other team's music stops as the dance is thankfully over. The audience claps and cheers for their effort and somewhat good talent. They weren't the worst I've seen so I gave a small clap.

Michael & Mikayla smirk at each other, while certain backup dancers were rolling their eyes at them, or rolling them at their exhaustion, and yet some were waving happily. Wow. They cant even stay in unison positions together until they get off the stage. I shake my head and silently laugh to myself as they exit the stage, and that was our cue.

"Don't be nervous guys, we got this. Girls follow my lead, and boys," I stop to look at Tremaine and Aaron specifically, and the team snickers.

"Boys, please, all jokes aside, we have to put some effort into winning this. Follow Chris and we'll all do fine together under the spotligh-"

"Together? As one team?" Crystal scoffs as if it were impossible. "The spotlight should be on two people-"

"No, the spotlight should be on all of us. The judges don't say give it up to Chris & Bella, they say to Stevenson High for a reason. We're all in this together, no pun intended." I wink and the team gets a good laugh of my reference to High School Musical.
