"I'm home!" I walk into the apartment and hear giggles traveling down the small hall from Bianca, and she smiles big once she sees me.
"Belly!!!"
"Hey Beebee! Where's Bri?" Her little legs run to me and she hus my legs tightly, then let's go to respond to my question. She shrugs with hands in the air cutely.
"I don't know Belly! Mama and Daddy left long time ago-"
"A long time ago? Without you??"
"Y-yes...I sorry-"
"No no, don't blame yourself for her selfish actions..."
"You sad!!!" Bianca pouts.
"No, no, no, I'm not! Just...I'm just frustrated as always-"
"What fusrae mean?" Bianca tried her best, and I giggle, shaking my head.
"It means annoyed. Mama and I get into arguments sometimes-"
"I know! Why!!!" Bianca sits on the ground with me in the living room and I sigh.
"You'll learn one day baby..." The apartment buzzer goes off and it almost scared the hell out of me. I got up and asked who was there.
"It's me, Brianna Haughton....Bella??"
I buzz my sister in immediately and hope my parents are behind her, but I only witness my sister running up the stairs with her backpack in her hand.
"Hi!"
"Hey! Where are our parents?"
"I don't know. I saw them this morning after breakfa-"
"Are you kidd- ugh! How the hell did you get home?!" I sigh, closing and locking the door behind us.
"I walked. It isn't that far sis..."
"You wal- I know but-"
"It's okay sis! I walked with a buddy named Stephanie that went the same way as me. She lives in a couple apartments down too! I was safe! I promise!"
"Alright, alright..." I smile as her and Bianca go into the kitchen for a snack.
My parents not watching their children, their responsibilities, the few things I ask for for them to help me out and they don't listen. It worries me too much having Bianca home alone for only God knows how long and the possibility of Brianna getting run over by a car while crossing the streets. I had to keep my cool though and pretend I was fine for the sake of the girls.
