When I got to school on Tuesday, I was excited.
I felt like a new person.
It was my birthday and I was finally eighteen.
"You're joking." I said getting out of the car
Everett walked up to me with two pink '18' balloons, an iced coffee, and a Lululemon bag.
"Happy birthday." He smiled as he handed me everything
Holland opened the trunk to get her things out.
"How cute, I'm going to class." She commented
I gave Everett a hug, "Thank you and happy birthday to you too."
"Thanks." He said as I pulled out of the hug
I put the things he gave me in the trunk and then opened the door to my backseat.
"I didn't forget about you." I spoke as I handed him the bag that had 'Happy Birthday' written all over it
Everett began to go in the bag, "Homemade cookies, my favorite candy, and microphone? Wow, I'm feeling pretty loved."
I pulled out the pink shorts of the Lululemon bag, "How'd you know what size I am?"
"Holland." Ev answered
"I figured, I've been wanting these for the longest." I admitted as I folded them back up
"I wish we could hang out tonight, but we're flying to Colorado straight after school. When do you leave for Florida?" I asked Everett
"Oh not until the 23rd and I come back on the night of the 1st of January." Ev answered
I nodded, "I come back the same day, maybe we could do something on the second since we go back on the third?"
"Sounds good." Everett approved
I grabbed my bookbag, "I'm not going to see you for eighteen days."
"I know that's gonna be the longest period of time that we go without seeing each other. Since we've been talking of course." Everett went on as I closed my trunk and locked my car
"I hate that the only time that my family doesn't go to Florida for winter break is when you go for winter break. It's so annoying, what part are you going to?" I complained
"Seaside." Everett answered
I nodded, "It's gorgeous there."
"It can be gorgeous here when you're with the right person." Everett commented as he lightly hit my shoulder

My Christmas break was amazing.
When we got to our house in Colorado with all of my family we went out to a nice restaurant to celebrate my birthday and being together.
Over the course of our trip we went skiing, went snowboarding, ice skated, celebrated Christmas and my grandparents' birthdays, and of course, just had a fun time as a family.
Of course, my family told everyone all about my 'boyfriend' but they said nothing but good things.
There was no lying about that I did really miss Everett.
We texted every day, we attempted FaceTime but our families were overbearing at times and it was awkward.
My flight coming back to Charlotte didn't land until eleven at night and I knew that Ev got back around six.
It was way too late to go over, but I did text him as soon as I got home.
