I sat in the car with my manager, trying to figure out how to fix this situation.
After we listened to the audio, we discovered that either my phone died or it cut off before everyone could hear us make up. The last thing everyone heard was 'I know that, but I'm not fucking him, Grier! I didn't get with you because I needed clout for football from your Dad or just because I wanted to have sex.'
Except the thing was because my phone was under the cover and people began to translate everything all wrong.
People thought that Ev said 'I don't want to get with you for clout anymore' or that he just wanted clout or to have sex with me.
Then other people thought that I hated him because I didn't post a picture from his set last night, it was all such a mess.
"Where are you?" I asked Everett through the phone
"I just left an interview, my parents are going to fucking flip." He answered as my phone buzzed
I looked at my phone, "Oh gosh, it's my Mom. She's probably with my Dad too. Hold on."
"Oh my fucking Gosh, they're going to hate me." Ev commented before I put him on hold
"Hello?" I answered
"Grier, what the hell is going on?" My mom asked me
I sighed as she continued.
"Did you guys break up?" She added
"No, Mom. The thing that we live didn't catch was us talking it out and apologizing to each other. The way people are making it seem is not how it went down, at all." I explained
My Dad started to speak up, "Was he drunk?"
"Yes." I mumbled
"Grier, you two need to remember that you guys aren't normal eighteen-year-olds that can go out and drink like other kids. People are always going to be watching you, no matter if you're at a red carpet event or at a grocery store. Your reputation is important, remember that." My Dad spoke
Then Kate tapped my shoulder.
"Hollywood Life is offering you and Everett both eight thousand dollars each for an exclusive interview in ten minutes." She informed me
My jaw dropped.
$8,000 just to set the record straight.
I nodded, "Yeah, let's do it."
"Thank you, Dad, I have to go. I'll call you later." I quickly ended
"Do they hate me?" Everett wondered
"No." I answered
Ev sighed, "I'll take them to dinner when we get back, I'm supposed to be seeing you in about ten minutes, huh?"
"Yeah, I gotta go, Kate has to do my makeup super quick. I'll see you in a bit, Ev." I ended
"Bye, Gray." He ended
Kate did a super simple makeup look, extremely fast. Then in the back of the car, she made me change into a spare outfit - a t-shirt and denim skirt. Kate told me that this outfit made me seem more relatable and 'normal'.
As soon as I got out of the car, so did Ev.
I grabbed his hand, he shielded me from the paparazzi as we walked inside the building.
"Have you talked to your parents?" I asked him
He nodded, "Yeah, they weren't too happy about the drinking thing, but they were happy we talked everything out."
