Areum laughed as she walked beside Taeil, moving to their next class. The pair of them stopped as a crowd of people blocked their way. Cheers and chanting of 'fight' made Areum roll her eyes, "I hate high school" she grumbled, Taeil nodding in agreement beside her.

The pair of them began to weave through the crowd, hoping that they'd be able to make it to the music room in one piece.

"You're a piece of trash, you scholarship peasant!" an annoyingly familiar deep voice yelled, making Areum roll her eyes for what seemed like the hundredth time. 'Wait? Scholarship peasant? God damn it' once again she rolled her eyes.

The girl turned towards the inner circle, only five people stood in the centre, everyone else just crowded around them at a distance. Four of the people were standing straight, the other was shorter but the intensity in his eyes was terrifying.

"That idiot" Areum grumbled through gritted teeth as she tried to get closer to the centre, making Taeil confused.

"You're big friends aren't here to save you now, Haechannie. What are you going to do?" Minhyuck's laugh made the girl's blood boil even more, the bully using her nickname for him making her more determined to stop this whole thing.

He punched Donghyuck's jaw, making the younger boy fall to the ground. Just as the group was about to attack him, the girl's voice sounded loudly and angrily, "If you dare hit him again, good god help your asses because I'll will make all of your annoying faces more deformed than they already are" she yelled, her eyes dark as she stared daggers at Minhyuck.

A smirk grew on the tall boy's face. "You're even hotter when you threaten me, princess. Kinda turns me on" he laughed, his posse, being the sheep that they are, copying immediately.

Areum rolled her eyes once again before turning around and seeing Donghyuck still on the ground. Her eyes softened slightly but she still had so much anger in her body. "Get up" she mouthed and boy did as she told him, slightly scared of her in that moment.

She looked back at Minhyuck and smirked, "You know what? At least he's talented enough to get a scholarship to this place. Your dumbass has the iq of a plank of wood and less talent than a decapitated earth worm" she said, giving a fake smile before walking over to Donghyuck, grabbing his hand and pushing through the crowd.

A worried teacher ran down the hall, stopping at Areum and asked what was happening, "You're a little late" she said before pulling Donghyuck to the nurse's office.

"Good morning, Donghyuck" the lady said, as if she was used to seeing him. She smiled at Areum before telling her to just take him to one of the beds. She did as she was told, carefully guiding the limping boy.

The nurse cleaned the cuts on his face, making the boy wince. Areum couldn't help but feel bad for him, how he laid there, weakly with no power to get up.

"I'm sorry" he looked over at the girl, his eyes looking as if they were about to erupt with tears. Areum's motherly side came out immediately as she sat beside him on the bed, holding his head to her chest, stroking his hair.

"It's ok, Haechannie. As long as you're safe now, it's ok" she whispered as she heard his breathing become more relaxed and quiet snores left his mouth. She couldn't stop a few tears from falling as she hugged him closer to her, just wishing she could take all of his pain away.
