"But have you seen Mr Kim's hair?" pausing for a moment, Areum turned to look at Donghyuck, "Why can't you guys do your hair like that?" she laughed, messing around with the unstyled strands of hair.
The boy pouted, making it impossible for Areum to hold back her hands from moving to his cheeks. Her palms were flat as they held each side of his face. With a big smile she giggled, "you're such a cutie, Haechannie".
The pout on Donghyuck's lips faded into the slightest smile as his cheeks warmed into a rosy pink.
DING DONG
Areum took her hands away from Donghyuck's face and let out a pained groan, "See you guys next break" she said, lazily saluting before walking away. Jaehyun trailed behind her, whining that she never shows him affection like she did to Donghyuck.
The rest of the boys looked at the stunned Donghyuck, who found it slightly difficult to breathe in that moment. The other boys said their farewells to the younger boy.
"That's a little pathetic." a deep voice came from behind Donghyuck.
The boy turned around to be facing a tall boy with messy brown hair, his eyes intense and judgmental.
"What do you want, Minhyuck?" he asked, his voice annoyed but weak.
"She's out of your league, scholarship. You're nothing."
Donghyuck's eyes fell to the floor.
"Don't start getting the idea that you're worth something." Minhyuck chuckled as he walked, stopping at Donghyuck's side. "I've been pretty nice to you lately because your friend is hot, don't get in my way" he shoved the younger boy's shoulder before continuing on, leaving Donghyuck alone in the hall.
