Chapter 5: This can't be.

Astrid's P.O.V:
This can't be! This can't be happening! Hiccup can't be dead! But sadly, this is the painful truth and I have to deal with it. So I ran and ran and ran. People might think I'm crazy at the moment, but I don't care. I have to see Stoik. And now.

I found Stoik and he was talking to Gobber by the docks. Looks like he came back from his trip. And my guess that it was not successful. (Silver: Speaking of wich, Stoik's trip was delayed a few hours than the movie so he came back at night. Deal with it.)

I went to see Stoik but I was sticking to the shadows so I won't be seen. Much like what I used to do to Hiccup in the past. -Not that I was stalking him or anything- And I was listening to there conversation.

"It was amazing, Stoik. He took the lead in dragon training! Like has his own way with the beasts." I saw the look in Stoik's eyes when he heard that. His scowl turned into a hopeful smile. It broke my heart to know I'm about to take that smile away.

I walked the rest of the way to them and cleared my through to catch their attention.

Once I had their attention I began to regret my decision. 'No turning back now.' I thought. "Stoik, we need to talk........ It's about Hiccup." I think that caught his full attention.

"What is it, lass?" Stoik asked, slight worry in his voice.

"I'm sorry, Stoik but Hiccup is........ dead. He was killed by a dragon." I told him closing my eyes so I won't see his broken face. Then I heard a chuckle and it exploded into laughter. 'WHAT?!! IS HE HAPPY THAT HICCUP'S GONE??!!' I opened my eyes to see that he is indeed laughing. 'WHAT'S WITH THIS GUY?!'

"Astrid, Astrid, Astrid. Hiccup can't be dead. Gobber just told me that he took the lead in dragon training, wich means he can take care of himself with any dragon." 'That's where you're wrong chief.' I thought. (Moon: Congrats to all the people who voted for option 2!)

"Well then, how about a Night Furry?" I saw the color drained from his face. He was shocked for a second then suddenly....

"A NIGHT FURRY??!!" He shouted. Oh boy.

"NIGHT FURRY!!!"

"GET DOWN!!!"

"TAKE COVER!!!"

"RUN FOR YOURE LIVES!!" I beleave it's needles to say all hell broke loose. Some people ran into each other will trying to take cover from 'The Night Furry' that is attacking.

Others just dropped the heavy barrels that were full of Monster's Nightmare gel we take from the captured Monster's Nightmare. They rolled to some of the houses and broke, spilling the gel everywhere.

And one of the people that was just walking through the night with his torch for no specific reason threw his torch and it landed on the same Monster's Nightmare gel from the barrels that just broke. I think we all know what this means.

BOOM!!!!

In less than three minutes, five houses were on fire becouse of a threat that wasn't even there.

"This. Was. COOL!! LET'S DO IT AGAIN!!" Make that ten. The twins Ruffnut and Tuffnut. Lovers of chaos. Worshippers of Loki. Sometimes, they're worse than four Zipple Backs together. (Moon: Did I spell that right?)

Back to business. I turned bake at Stoic and he gave me a face that pretty much said l-need-evidence-for-this-one-lass. Who could blame him? If I didn't see it, I would never believe it.

I pulled out Hiccup's dagger and some of the Night Furry's scales and showed them to Stoic. He looked at the dagger strangely at first but when he saw Hiccup's mark his eyes were as wide as the moon.

He then looked deadly serious and at the same time murderous. And it sent shivers down every one's spine "Spiteloud, gather a search party and search everywhere you can think of. Look for any sign of Hiccup or the Night Furry. Gobber, you come with me. Astrid, show us where you found these." I nodded and ran to the forest with Stoic and Gobber close behind.

I led them to the cove where I found Hiccup's dagger and the scales. And I must say, I was in quite a rush the first time I was here that I didn't realize how much of a mess this place was! Big scratches on every wall, Night Furry scales everywhere, and burn marks are all over the place!

I don't know how much time I was observing the place. I didn't listen to anything Stoic or Gobber said. All I could think of us how this place is going to be a sad memory of Hiccup's death.

Stoic's P.O.V:
Once Astrid took us to where she found the evidence, I immediately recognized this place as Green Peace Cove. (Silver: We just made it up. No one said its name in the movie or the series.) it was my favorite place until I became chief. I haven't came here ever since.

Once I set a foot in the cove, I was instantly met with smell of blood and burned fur. I looked around and found Gobber already inspecting something on the ground. I walked to him and found him inspecting......

"Hiccup's jacket?" I voiced my thoughts asking Gobber if it realy was his. Sadly, he nodded.

When I got a good look at his jacket, it took every muscle in my body to hold back my gasp.

It was Hiccup's jacket alright but the sight was so heartbreaking to me and I can't even describe it. No! This can't be! Hiccup's alive! I'm sure of it! I can feel it!
