Mother and Daughter

Chapter 2

Amelia sat at the dinner table and ate her breakfast that consisted of: Bread, bacons and eggs. She looked at Lily to realize she wasn't eating, she was just smiling into the air and mumbling something to herself.

"Lily?" She called her name and Lily turned back to look at her. "What are you doing?"

"Um... I was talking to someone." Lily said looking back to the corner she was staring at earlier.

Amelia was a bit freaked out. "...Who?", she asked. There was no one in the house besides the two of them.

Lily pouted a bit. "I don't know. He won't tell me his name."

"Right... Lily, it's your first day at school, remember? We need to hurry up or you'll be late." Amelia said deciding to forget momentarily about the previous matter. She deemed it as a result of lack of sleep or too much cartoons. Lily suddenly got excited at the mention of school and ate her food as quickly as possible.

15 minutes later:

Amelia dropped off Lily at her school and drove her car to her office. Luckily for her, the office wasn't too far away from Lily's school. It was only 8-10 minutes drive. Upon reaching the office, she went inside the lift and pressed the 12th floor. On the 3rd floor, the lift stopped and another man got inside the lift. He greeted Amelia.

"Hello! I am Carlos! You're from the sales department?", He guessed probably because she was headed to the 12th floor.

"Amelia and yes", She said not looking at him. Instead, she focused on the lift buttons as she was finding them quite interesting in this awkward situation. After a few moments, she did look up only to find his gaze on her legs. She internally groaned and thought 'Typical'. She coughed a bit to catch his attention and he finally looked up to meet her eyes. Instead of blushing or feeling ashamed that he was caught red-handed while checking her out, he openly smirked and pulled out his phone from his pocket.

"Want to exchange numbers, hot stuff?", He suggested while eyeing her legs. She scowled a bit but then quickly pulled on her best flirtatious smile. This was her chance to relieve her stress.

"Sure. Why not?", she replied with a wink. His smirk widened at the response and they exchanged numbers. After that, he got out of the lift on his floor but not before winking back at her. She smiled at him but as soon as he went out, her smile was replaced with a sneer. She opened her phone to see his phone number written. She still hadn't saved it so she decided to do it now.

'No. 21' she wrote and saved it.

Smiling she went to her office and worked for 5 hours. After that, she drove to her daughters school. She waited in front of the school until Lily came out smiling and laughing with her two friends. A boy and a girl. Amelia eyed the two for a moment and then walked up to Lily. Lily immediately smiled even wider upon noticing her mother.

"Mom!" Lily exclaimed as Amelia messed with her hair. She just laughed and looked at her daughter's new friends.

"And who are these two?", Amelia tried to smile but it was forced.

"These are my friends! This is Kate and this is Luke!", Lily introduced and Amelia's eyes widened at the similarity.

'Luke and Kate. Lucas and Katie. Luke and Kate. Lucas and Katie. Luke and Ka...'

Trying her best to not show her disgust openly, she greeted them and then told Lily that they needed to go. Lily waved bye to her friends and followed her mother to the car. During the ride back home, Lily kept talking and telling her mother about her amazing day at school while Amelia clenched the steering wheel tightly and was lost in her own world of self-despair.

Upon reaching the house, Lily sat in the dining room while the maid made lunch. The maid came to work at this time in the afternoon and stayed till 7'o clock. She made lunch and dinner. She even took care of Lily when Amelia had work to do. Amelia went to her room and opened her phone. Unsurprisingly, she had a new text. She was expecting him to message earlier though. Opening her inbox, she saw his message.

No. 21: Hey, hot stuff. What's up?

Me: Oh nothing much. Just quite lonely~! :(

No. 21: I can change that~! ;)

Me: Plz do ;)

No. 21: My place or yours?

Me: Yours ;)

Grinning like a Cheshire Cat, Amelia leaped out of her bed and went downstairs. She told the maid to take care of Lily and went outside towards her car. She opened her phone to see that he had already sent his address. She drove towards her destination with all sorts of thoughts clouding her mind. Normally, she wouldn't do this with a collegue but she was really stressed.

She just needed to...

She reached his house in 15 minutes. She looked at the house. It was a two-storeyed building and from their town's standards, it was considered quite huge. 'He is rich', she thought. This was going to be a difficult task but she was amenable to taking the risk.

She needed to...

She went up to his door and after taking a deep breath and checking that everything was hidden, she knocked. After a moment of silence, she heard footsteps approaching the door from the other side.

She just needed to...

He opened the door for her with a smirk. Eyeying her up and down, he invited her in. She smiled at him and went inside with only one thought in her mind...

'She just needed to...kill someone.'

Mei: Creepy! Hey Ami? Why is it that the characters we create are so deranged and lunatic?
Ami: Yeah, you are right. I wonder why we create such characters when we are so innocent and nice.
*bell rings and the pizza man arrives*
Pizza man: Your pizza with extra cheese and pepperoni.
Ami: Are there tomatoes in it?
Pizza man: Ye- *gets burnt by the fireball that Ami threw*
Ami: Like I said, we are so innocent so why?
Mei: Hmm... who knows...? *wipes away all evidence*
