I need to get there

I need to get there as soon as possible.

"hey, could you please drive a little quicker?" I asked, my worries growing with every second that passes by.

"I'm sorry miss, this is the fastest we can go. I'll be fined for going faster than this." The driver replied in an 'I-don't-care' manner which annoyed me even more.

He has no idea what I'm going through right now.

The mental pain I'm experiencing right now.

Instead of retorting to that, I decided to control my emotions and simply look outside at the rainy weather.

The weather it was when Seulgi and I had-

"Miss! We're almost there so don't worry." the driver said, glancing at my reflection on the rear view mirror.

I pretend to give a sigh of relief so that he knows that I payed attention to what he just said.

I ran all the way to the designated floor, not even stopping to breath or care to take the elevator (or HELLAVATOR ya kno)

I was completely out of breath I knew I shouldn't give up.

Reaching the indicated floor, I push through all the doctors, nurses and patients to get to the room I was supposed to go to.

I opened the door with unnecessary force.

"Wendy dear. I wasn't- I wasn't expecting you'd be here."

I gasped at the sight in front of me.

"Oh Grandma! Why wouldn't I?"

Her skin looked paler and her eyes had lost the usual glint that was there whenever she smiled.

I went nearer and took a seat that was right next to the bed.

"it's like my time has come now Wendy."

"Grandma! you're making me emotional." I whine.

She giggled. Watching her giggle in such a situation made me want to do the same.

Our giggles turned into laughter, replacing the dull atmosphere of the room.

"it sounded dramatic, like-like one of those film dialogues." She said, continuing to giggle.

I was too, but with tears in my eyes. I couldn't hold them back anymore.

"Wendy dear, please don't cry." Grandmom said, getting ahold of my hands, struggling to do so.

It made me want to cry even more.

"You're-You're my only family. I'm too scared to lose you." I said in between sobs.

"No Wendy! It's time for you to start your own family. Eric is a really nice man. I'm sure you'll lead a happy life with him."

Those words put me into a dilemma.

Seulgi or Eric?
