“Wait, wait, wait you are Ruby Singh right star reporter of B24?” Aisha asked.
“Ya, how do you know me?” I asked.
“You are Chitra auntie’s daughter in law right?” She asked.
Victor looked at me in surprise he wondered how she knew it.
“Yes, but how do you know” I said.
“I have seen your photos” She said.
“Oh! Really” I said.
“Ya, you never came home right?” She asked.
“No, we got married when we were at Mumbai and my job keeps me so busy I have to keep on travelling all the time I was planning to come back an settle here but tough luck I got this mind blowing assignment and I had to work in that” I said.
“So do you know Chitra aunty is my neighbour she lives in the opposite house” Aisha said.
“Oh! No I didn’t know will she be there now?” I asked.
“Yes she will be there” Aisha said.
“Victor after this interview I have a personal meeting OK” I said.
“Hey you can go and meet her right away I will wait OK” Aisha said.
“No, work first” I said.
“OK so what you wanna know about Lali?” Aisha asked.
“Everything” I said.
“OK I first met Lali at school we didn’t have much contact then she was a silent girl who talks less had less friends and all but she looked happy I always saw her with a thinking face she was this classic day dreamer of our batch but all of us loved her she was out sweetheart Lali. After that I met Lali at collage when she came there to do PG I remember every bit of that day” and with this opening statement Aisha began her story.

That day I was walking towards the canteen when I saw Lali entering through the gate of the collage.

I walked towards her actually I almost ran I was too excited to see her.
“Hey Lali, hi, remember me Aisha from school” I said.
“Aisha, hi, it has been like 5 years since our last meeting right” Lali said as she gave me a quick hug.
“Ya dude, so what’s up?” I asked.
“Well I have a big and crazy story to tell you” Lali said.
“OK, so let’s go to the canteen and have a long conversation” I said.
“Perfect I am starving” Lali said as we walked towards the canteen.
*
We had an old fashion canteen with old wooden desk and chairs and still looked nice it was the most interesting place in the collage. The canteen radio played the hamma song from OK jannu. I and Lali occupied a corner table we ordered two coffees and two club sandwiches. Lali kept her bag on a chair which was on the side it was easy for me to peep inside it. I saw a novel well I am not a great reader or anything but I identified the book it has been a super hit novel since the time it was released in 2014 till now the year 2017 people continued to read it. It was Chetan Bhagat’s masterpiece novel ‘Half girlfriend’.

“Half girlfriend, I thought you only read boring type of novels like that one you searched for in the library a whole week at school which novel was that?” I asked

“Diary of a young girl by Ann frank” Lali said.
“Ya the one with Hitler in it” I said.
“It just had the mention of Hitler, anyway I don’t read novels by foreign writers anymore only Indian” Lali said.
“Wow, that’s cool” I said.
“And I am a Chetan Bhagat fan he helped me get over all the worries” Lali said.
“What problem, is that the reason for you to leave your collage?” I asked.
“Ya, but don’t tell anyone OK” Lali said.
“No, I won’t, but what was the problem did it have any raging and senior harassment tragedy like a suspense thriller film” I asked.
“Ha-ha tough luck Aisha it is just a rubbish love story”
“YOU AND LOVE” I said loud enough to shake a guy on the opposite table.
“Shhhhhh...........Aisha” Lali said signalling me to keep quite.
“Sorry, sorry tell me the story already” I said.
“Ok” Lali said.
