Sora wasn't inside, so he didn't hear the result. He really hoped that at least Tidus and Wakka's team had won so that he could somehow change the person he'd spent time with. Now he realized how stupid this whole thing was.

While Sora pouted, students started to walk out of the auditorium. Sora noticed, and stopped someone. The brunette girl turned to him.

"Yes?"

Sora grinned sheepishly at having stopped her so suddenly.

"I was just wondering who won. Could you tell me?" Sora asked, rubbing his neck nervously.

She smiled, and nodded. "Oh, sure. Riku Mizukawa won."

It took Sora a bit to processes that. He quickly thanked the girl, and before she could say anything, he opened the doors and ran inside. Sure, Riku had an amazing voice, but he couldn't stay close to him. Sora would probably make a stupid mistake.

'Riku has a boyfriend. There's no way that guy will want someone else to be so close to Riku.'

When he made it to the stage, he looked for the teachers and Riku. However, Riku seemed to be gone. Most teachers had already left. Sora took a deep breath, and walked to one of the few left. She saw Sora, and smiled.

"Hey, Sora," she greeted.

"Hello," Sora said. "Do you have the sheets with the winners on them?"

The teacher seemed to think for a moment, then nodded. She looked through different folders on the table, then pulled a light blue one out. She handed it to him.

"I made sure to have extras, so you can keep it," she informed him. "We wrote the names on another sheet too."

Sora grinned. "Thanks! You're the best!"

Sora was about to walk away, but stopped. He needed to do something before he left. He turned, and gathered his courage. Quite a few teachers were still around the stage, and a few students that helped.

"I would like to say thank you to everyone that helped me make this idea come true! I couldn't have done it without any of you. I know it was tiring, but in my opinion, it was worth it. So thank you! I appreciate it."

With that, Sora gave a small thank you to the teacher who had given him the folder, and ran out. He passed a group of friends, and what he heard upset him a bit.

"Looks like Sora is somewhat a good guy underneath all that arrogance."

"Maybe Sora isn't so much of idiot as I thought."

"Sora's not just a pretty face, is he?"

"Please. That guy will never change."

Sora slowed down as he neared the door. He quietly opened the door, and closed it behind him and leaned against it once it was close.

"That's what they used to think, huh? Or still do," he asked to no one in particular.

Sora shook his head, and sat next to the door. He opened the folder, and ignored the contestants papers. He would look at those later. He also separated the papers with the names of those who helped. Again, he would check them out later.

Sora's face lit up when he saw the winners page. He skimmed through it, looking for his friend's names. After looking at the names for about four times, he let out a groan and hit his head with the folder.

"I'm such an idiot."

The remaining people were walking out of the auditorium, and gave weird looks when they saw Sora sitting down, pouting. They kept walking, not bothering to ask if he was alright.

"I'll have to ask the others to see how long this'll be. I really wanted to make an excuse to change this to another contests, but I don't know these people," he muttered to himself.

Sora heard running, and looked up. He saw the guilty faces of Tidus and Wakka.

"Hey, Sora!"

When they got closer, they leaned over, catching their breath. It made Sora wonder how long they had been running, and from where.

"What's up?"

Tidus noticed the paper of the winners, and sighed.

"So you already know," Tidus said.

Sora nodded. "It's okay though. I know Riku, at least. It's not that bad."

Tidus' face scrunched up. "But that guy thinks he's all that."

Sora shrugged. "Honesty, we might have given him a reason to dislike us."

"Whoa, where did the Sora I know go?"

Sora glared. He picked up his papers, and shoved them into the folder again then stood up.

"I'm still Sora Akishima, the most amazing person on the planet!" Sora exclaimed with a grin.

Wakka slung an arm around his shoulder, and the other around Tidus.

"Right!"

They laughed, but the thought of stealing Riku's time was still in the back of his mind. Maybe a week would be okay. After all, Riku probably didn't want Sora tagging alone everyday.

Riku had grabbed his stuff, and pulled his best friends out of the auditorium through a door that led outside. He won the singing contest, but he didn't want to be questioned by people. Axel wanted to stay, but Roxas said he needed to get home.

"I'll take you," Axel offered.

Roxas shook his head. "I'll be fine. If my mom sees you..."

Axel seemed to understand. "If you're sure."

"I am." Roxas gave him a sweet sincere smile.

Axel watched as Roxas left, and turned to Riku. Riku noticed that he was looking at him, and raised an eyebrow.

"What?"

"I feel bad for letting him go back to his mom," Axel answered.

"There's nothing we can do. She's his mom. Besides, his dad's there, and so is Xion. He'll be okay." Riku said, more to himself than Axel.

"If you say so."

Riku then changed the subject.

"Let's go. I want to have one more day to myself before Akishima decides to invade my privacy," Riku joked and pulled Axel's arm.

"Okay, okay. Stop that, you're hurting me." Axel laughed.

Riku rolled his eyes. "Like I could hurt you."

"Hey, you're strong. I wonder why you never fought those guys who made fun of you," Axel wondered as they started walking to Riku's house.

The shorter teen shrugged. "Don't know. I guess that's not worth getting in trouble for."

"True."

The sky was darkening, so they hurried home. They were probably going to play videogames until late, but they couldn't play too late, since they had school the next day, and that upset them. Riku was just proud that he managed to go up on a stage, and win. He had never felt more happy, and proud of himself.
