Water Boy

Our walk around the green house turned into a walk around the grounds; and then a nice unexpected nap by the creek.  I was peacfullg laying on the grass with my feet dangled into the cool lagoon while Abe swam circles and floated about the top.  Shooting the breeze and talking about strange things we had seen.  He told me about the marvels of the troll market and all of the things and creatures you can find there.  I couldnt help but be excited about my chance to go there.  The books i could find about different beings written on their own accord would be beneficial to our research.  I know its a bit different than what the BPRD is used to but i only see it helping our research even more, and avoid any ignorance to any cases.  Abe swam about in the hidden lagoon with green lillys skirting the outsides of the water.   Occasionally I would loose sight of him but the see a blue splash of webbed hands or feet reach the surface. The green of the plants and clearness of the water only made his blue skin all the more mesmerizing.  He was truly amazing, not only him himself but his peraonality too; such a gentlemen.
"Why thank you miss (y/n)."
"What?"
"Thank you.  Im very flattered that you think my appearance is mesmerizing and that Im a true gentleman."
"Oh right.  Gotta start filtering my thoughts more haha "
"Oh please miss (y/n) its a nice change of pace.  I actually feel more human if that is understandable."
"Well in a way i guess it is.  I guess your not used to people who only view you as a creature and not a living person"
" well besides the people here i don't really have outside contact.  Its a lonely life but its a well protected one that im very greatful for. I know I wouldnt be able to live as freely as i do now if it werent for professor broom "
He climbed up out of the little laggoon and sat beside me.
"Hey Abe?"
"Yes?"
"I have a question for you."
"Oh sure.  Go ahead ask away. I am an open book."
"How can you breath out of water? Are you amphibious. I dont mean for that to sound rude.  Im just very curious."
"Well were not entirely sure.  From what I know about amphibious species I guess I am but there are also some characteristics of mammals in me. So i guess you can say both.  I just need some form of water after awhile to breath.  Either it be a body of water or my breathing apparatus. And don't worry.  Education is the best form of friendship is it not?"
"Well i will agree with you there.  It makes much more sense to me now.  Im sorry if im so curious."
"I find your curiosity quite charming.  No need to apologize for being inquisitive."
"Well im glad i have a friend who will help me answer any questions i may have."
"Well that's what I am here for after all. We at partners now.  So dont be afraid to ask.  Your sucsses is mine as well."

By the time we got back it was almost sunset.  The orange glow in the sky made (y/n)'s hair radiate light.  I couldn't help but stare at her.  She was so happy to be around us abnormal folk of the BPRD.  I couldnt help but think of how extraordinary she was. No person as beautiful as her would voluntarily spend her life in secrecy just to learn about the extraterrestrial, paranormal, and abnormalities of this planet.  I found her quite puzzling but absolutely charming and pleasing.
"Abe are you coming?  Or is there something wrong?"
"Oh nothing wrong i got lost in my own thought for awhile that's all."
"Alright lets head back inside.  I still have to meet the rest of the team."
"Oh thats right.  I bet Liz is up and about by now.  Lets go find her."
"Sounds good Abe. "
