"Can you please stop staring at me?" I lean forward, whispering to Gregg, who sits opposite me at the dinner table. It's been a few days since the kiss in the pool. We haven't really talked about it much, but Gregg and I secretly catch each other's eye when we would be in the same room with his mom. For some reason, it's weird being in the same room as him for a long time. Penny did not have any more acting scenes for the day and had decided to cook some dinner for us.
"Sorry, but I can't help it." Gregg leaned back in his chair and took a sip of his soda, still staring at me. He whispered back with a playful smirk, quickly glancing back at his mom to see if she was looking at us. She took a sip of her wine.
A vibration on the glass table broke my stare, and I looked down at my plate and continued eating the chicken casserole in front of me.
"Did the two of you have a wonderful day?" Penny asked as soon as she set her phone back on the table.
"I guess you can say so," Gregg answered, stuffing another bite in his mouth. She just glanced between the two of us. I try to hide a smile.
"So, Uhm... That was a message from the production. Filming has been cut short. Apparently, they have all the stuff they need for the scenes filmed here. We will be flying home tomorrow afternoon," Penny announced. I look around, and my eyes land on Gregg's. I see him looking at me.
"That's great news. We can try and finish our school project before then." Gregg says, taking the last bite from his plate. He stands up and heads for the kitchen, clearing his place at the table. I look around and see aunt Penny look in my direction very hard to hide a smile, but failing at it.
"Something you want to tell me, Aunt Penny?" I ask. I see her eyes slightly widen.
"No. I'm good." She says, but I can see she still wants to continue her sentence.
"It's just that the two of you seem very happy today. More happy than usual." I almost choke on the price of food in my mouth. She is onto us.
"I think we are just rested out. You know, people who rest look more refreshed." I comment, and she slowly nods, standing up and taking her plate to the kitchen, leaving me alone at the table.

We did little the rest of the evening. Penny watched some TV while Gregg and I sat on the couch with her and watched the show with her. Penny sat in the middle with Gregg and me on either side of her. The credits rolled on the show she was watching, and as soon as the program ended, she was up and left the room, heading towards her bedroom upstairs.
I look over to Gregg and stare at him. He has no intention of standing up so that I can get my sleep on the couch for the night. I take the cushion from the end of the couch and look back in his direction. He is now looking at me with a smirk on his face.
"Do you mind?" I ask, placing the cushion down near him and making myself comfortable.
"No, go ahead," he says, but does not move. I wiggle myself and try to get comfortable. I close my eyes and take a deep breath, trying to relax. I can feel Gregg's eyes, but I try not to focus on them. After a few minutes of trying to get comfortable, sleep is not coming to me as Gregg's presence is just too distracting.
"Are you, I don't know, going to bed soon?" I ask, breaking the silence that has been settling in.
"I don't know," he says, and I open my eyes to look at him.
"It's just so hard to get comfortable." He nods his head and stands up from the couch. He smiles down at me and quickly pecks my lips.
"Are you sure you'll be fine here on the uncomfortable couch?" he asks again.
