Chapter Six

The next day, there was a knock at the front door. I answer it and see Brendon. He had something behind his back. "Hey." I say. I invite him in. "You know how you were telling me that you wish you had a puppy to take care of?" Brendon said. "Yeah," I said. "Well, I went to PetsMart and well, meet Gizmo." Brendon said and revealed a puppy from behind his back. "Oh my god, Brendon!" I yelled with joy. I grabbed Gizmo and held him. "He's so cute." I say. We sit down on the couch and Gizmo is sitting in my lap. Lora walks out of her room. "Is that a puppy?" Lora asked. "Yeah, his name is Gizmo." I say. Lora sits down beside me and pets Gizmo. Lora's phone buzzes. She looks at it. "I gotta go. I'll be back in a few hours." She said. "Where you going?" I asked. "My boyfriend is here to pick me up. We are going to his house." Lora said with a wink. "Lora, that's gross." I say. "Don't act like you've never done it." Lora said. I looked at her with this deadly glare. I hadn't had sex before in my life. "I haven't." I said. "Never?" Lora asked. "Don't you have to be somewhere?" I ask. "Oh, yeah. Bye guys." She said and left. My face felt hot. I felt so embarrassed. I guess Brendon noticed. "Hey," He said. I looked at him. "Don't feel embarrassed just because you are a virgin. It's nothing to be embarrassed about." Brendon said. "Yes it is, Brendon. I'm betting that you've slept with at least one of your past girlfriends." I say. Brendon stared at me. "Why would you assume that?" Brendon asked. "Because you're, well, you're you. Am I wrong?" I ask. "Very wrong. I act like I've fucked someone but in reality, I've never had sex. Everyone assumes that I slept with Ryan or Dallon just because I kissed them on stage many times before." Brendon said. "Why did you kiss them on stage?" I ask. Brendon looks down. "Brendon? Did you like them more than friends?" I ask. Brendon sighed. He nodded slowly. "But I swear I'm straight. I swear I would never date a guy. It was just heat that Ryan and I had and Dallon and I had when we were on stage and when we kissed. I don't know why I did it." Brendon said. "Sometimes we do things that we don't think is going to happen until they actually happen." I say. Gizmo hops off my lap and runs somewhere. Brendon has this devilish grin on his face. He begins to tickle me. I laugh and we fall to the floor while he still tickles me. He stops tickling me and I stare at him in his eyes.
