Chapter Eight: Date You? Say What Now!
Jessica's point of view.
Lunch, lunch, lunch, I thought as I tapped on the wood of my desk, this was my last period before I got to see him again. Why couldn't lunch get here faster? I looked up the wall at the analog clock, the small hand was pointed on the twelve and big hand was on the five, only ten more aching minutes till I see his green deep eyes.
I looked up to Mrs.Brat praying to god she let us out early! She was staring right back at me with that 'do I have something in me teeth' stare. It was almost funny, but I didn't want to laugh at the moment. All I wanted to do was see him, and then get home to get on my laptop. Ms. Brat looked at me oddly before approaching me at my desk, "Are you well?" she asked in her laid back voice. That was a weird question to ask, right?
I rolled my bottom lip in my mouth before answering her question, "What do you mean?" I asked with one eyebrow raised.
"You look distracted, do you need to go to the bathroom?" Why did all teachers ask if you need to go to the bathroom when there is nothing wrong? I mean did she think I looked constipated? However, I could get this excuse to escape out of this dreadful classroom. I held my stomach and groan as if I have cramps.
"Yes Mrs.Brat, it's that time again. I just need to take a walk to make some the pain to away," I moaned and then grunted winching in fake agony. Some of the other students around me looked at me weirdly before turing back around in my seat.
"Oh, poor honey. Go to the bathroom, here's the hall pass," she said as she went to the white board and took the bathroom pass then coming back to me. I stood up taking the hall pass and giving her a light hug, we were kind of close. Well she thought we were close.
"Thank you," I said grabbing my bag and left out the door pulling down my skirt. I went into the hallway and just started walking around, I had about five minutes till the bell would ring so I was in the clearing to not come back, I would give her the bathroom pass tomorrow.
Looking down at my purse I rubbed my shoulder, the straps were seriously taking a down fall on my shoulders. This was just as worst as cramping, but lucky for me lunch was this hour and I had time to slip this hideous bag into my locker. I pick up my pace as I make it to the stairs and walk up them. I was always winded after the second flight going up them, so when I made it to the to I mentally applause myself, seriously I was doing a good job.
When I approach my locker I set the bag on the floor so I can unlock the actual twist lock. Thirty to the right, twenty to the left, and zero to the right. I took the lock off when the metal hook unlatched. As soon as I actually open it a folded up piece of paper falls out. Oh I could just guess what this annoying piece of paper was. I unfolded it and read it.
I couldn't lie by the end of reading it my heart felt a little warmer, these love letters were actually helping my self esteem a lot.
I tucked the the paper into my bra for safe keeping because, this stupid skirt had no pockets at all. I still wonder till this day why I had ever bought this. Of course the bell had already rang when I was at my locker so it was no surprise at all when I turned around there was a warm smile that greeted me.
"Hey stranger," he said as he walked up closer on me making my back press tightly on the metal door. Oh did he know how much space was in between us? I don't think so because I barely had any breathing room. I was basically just breathing in his Co2 that left his winter cool breath. I gave a gulp before I was able to answer. I was trying to swallow the lump away.
