Chapter Three
He handed me his helmet before we had gotten on. I complained that I didn't want to and he told me to put it on or I don't get on. The conversation went a little like this.
-Flashback-
"I'm not wearing that. That is going to mess up my hair." I narrowed my eyes at the thick plastic helmet in my hands. It was shiny, black, and hard. He crossed his arms and glared at me.
"You are wearing it, now put it on!" He ordered and I scoffed. He was acting like my parent and I hardly listen to them, what makes him think I was going to listen to him. I smirked and shook my head.
"Fine," He said taking it out of my hands, "I'm gone," He put his other helmet on and set the one he brought for me in this little trunk sort of thing in the back of his seat. That was kind of weird. "It's either you wear it or I'm leaving." I didn't want him to leave... He was too amazing for that. He could tell on my face that was a big no-no.
"Fine," I grabbed it from him after he took it back out. I put it on and it made my head look extremely huge!
-End of Flashback-
I was kind of grateful for the helmet because every time he turned a corner it terrified me. The cement pavement was, like, only a foot away because his turns were so deep.
I held on tightly to his waist gripping handfuls of his shirt. My torso was pressed against his back leaving no room in between us, and my chin was tucked nicely in the crook of his neck.
The feeling I got went our skin touched each other was special... I've had boyfriends before and when they touched me it never felt like this. It never felt as warm or as calming that it felt with him. Yeah, my other boyfriends were warm but they didn't make my mouth lose control whenever I talked to them, or the simple fact that their smile made me smile. I have a feeling this is going to be the start of a beautiful friendship.
I was starting to get impatient because ride was a little too long for my liking. We were almost to road runner zoo and he hadn't told me were we were going yet.
"Roman... where are you taking me?" I asked.
"Somewhere fun. You like animals’ right?" Oh it was obvious we were heading to the zoo now.
"Yeah, but they terrify me. Don't ask why, just trust me." He laughed and he cut off his engine, we were in the most beautiful place ever! I swear this was the park I always loved as a child. There were big green hills as tall as the jungle gym, thick luscious trees, and dark green grass covering every inch of its surface.
"So, you can take off the helmet now, Jessie." He told me as he took off his. I hesitated to take off mine because I was afraid I was going to have helmet hair. Yes, even for a girl it could happen! He got agitated about how slow I was being and took it off for me. "Don't you look cute?" He said angling his motorcycles mirrors to me. Ew, I feared the worst... Helmet hair!
"Ew," was all I could say. My hair was so disgusting! He chuckled at my expression and weaved his fingers through my hair, trying his best to control my locks that were curving in all angles. "It looks horrible Roman!"
"No, Jessie it looks really pretty," He laughed. I hit him in his chest because he was being mean to me. "Hey," he said ruffling my hair.
"Well stop being mean!" I giggled pushing him playfully away from me. I turned my back to him, because honestly, I was giving up on the whole him touching me trying to fix my hair. I took my hair tie from around my wrist and put my hair into a ponytail. After I was done I felt warm hands grip onto my hips. I jolt at the touch and turned around automatically. "What the hell are you doing?" I asked frantically.
He put his hands up in surrender and smirked, "Oh my bad." He laughed then rubbed his hand on his neck nervously.
"Yeah, it is your bad." This time he held my hand and led me to one of the most private place in the park. It was the place I always liked to come when I wanted to escape from the world a bit. It was an old little jungle gym all silver- no rust, the floor was covered in wood chips, and there was only one bench that could fit about two people on it. I laughed a bit when I remembered he said something about animals, he must have meant the little ducks that walked around the park because there was a lake dead in the centre. I could feel his gaze on my face the whole time. I let go of his hand and walked over to the swing and sat on its rubber seat.
"You like it here, don't you?" He asked approaching me, grabbing onto the chains stopping my swing.
"Yeah, I do. It reminds me of peace. Why did you ask?"
"No reason, I just saw on your face that you were happy." He told me while letting go of the chains then sat next to me.
"Well, yeah I am... How did you know I liked coming here?"
"Wild guess?" He said after a while.
"No, seriously how did you know? Are you like my stalker?" I chuckled I was only joking.
"No... But I remember that one time when we were chatting and you said that you liked this one part in this park in so much detail. And... I knew exactly what you were talking about."
"Oh... I remember that day..." I said trailing off in wonder.
"Yeah, so.... Yeah." Was all he said before he got up.
"Well.... anyway... What do you want to talk about? You seem to have a lot on your mind." I got up and followed him.
"It's nothing really I just like this girl...." Ouch, that stung a bit. It shouldn't matter though.
"Really? Who is it?" There was a little edge in my voice but that could be mistaken as care. Well I did care, I don't know why, but I did. I cared about him. I didn't want to but I did.
"Oh, you know her... you talk to her almost every day." Who could this be if I knew her. I mean, like, really none of the girls I knew were good enough for him and they're MY friends. I caught hold to his wrist and turned him around, looking up at him, curiously.
"Who?" I asked again more frantically. This made his mouth twitch into that twisted little smirk. I think he thought I was jealous or something. He shook his head. "Who?" I repeated.
"Why do you need to know?" He asked, amused.
"I just might... I don't know, just tell me!" I exclaimed, and this had him bursting into abrupt laughter.
"You." Was all he said. Wait... You meant me and me was referring to the you he was talking about right? Please let that be right!
"Do you mean you as in me?" I asked.
"I'm pretty sure I did." He said as he pulled me closer to him.
"Are you sure?" I asked again. Our bodies were touching and I was near the point of hyperventilation.
He nodded leaning his head down to mine. This felt like this was happening in slow motion; his bottom lip brushed my top before finding its way back down. As both of our lips met in the correct place my heart started to splutter in response. This was happening too soon!
