Three weeks had past and 'the squad' (as Mia calls it) is really fun. Luke isn't as shy anymore, but I think that's only because he feels a little comfortable now. Nate and I turned out to be good partners and actually I can't really believe that. We went on many patrouilles the past weeks and got a little promotion. Now and then Jason gives us some cases Mia and Luke helped us with that. Mia in the lab, Luke behind the computer and Nate and I on the field. I'm glad that I've found sort of a family, I will remember.
....

"Coffee on me!" I walked into the the lab and found Mia and Luke talking again. I gave them both a coffee "that's really kind of you" Luke said with a soft voice. "That really is! You're the best!" Mia agreed with Luke, but I still had two cups in my hands. "Did you guys see Nate?" "I think he's outside. He said he needed some fresh air" I nodded "thank you". I went downstairs and found Nate on the stairs, he was mocking about something. "Are you alright?" I asked a little concerned. He startled and looked at me. I gave him his coffee "I'm fine, thank you" I knew he wasn't, "I'm not stupid. I know you aren't. You can tell me" he sighed deep. "There's just someone on my mind" I looked at him patiently and his eyes met mine. I saw a sparkle, which was clearly a tear. I looked at him with sympathy. "My best friend died exactly one year ago" he explained. I looked at him "I'm sorry". I gave him a quick hug and he smiled back.

I looked at my watch and saw it was almost 10 in the morning. "We have to get ready for the patrouille. "You're right" he stood up and smiled as if nothing was bothering him, liar. We grabbed our walkie talkies and got in the black car. We drove a while and checked the people, but then there was a radio call. "There's a notification from suspicious movements in a house by the lake. Over" "we're just around the block" Nate said. I grabbed the radio and said "10-16 here, we're around the corner we'll go check it, over" "copy that, over". We pulled over and went to the front door Nate knocked on the door and we waited. We heard some glass shattering and grabbed our guns. I signed that he had to go to the back and he nodded. He went to the back and I broke the door open. With my finger along the trigger I walked slowly towards the rooms. I checked them quickly, but there was no one so I went to the living room. I saw the glass on the ground and some blood behind the kitchen table. I went to the blood and saw someone laying in it. Her eyes were closed. I went on my knees to check if she was still alive, but out of the sudden I heard something behind me. I turned around as fast as I could to find a guy standing there with a knife in his hands. I pointed my gun at him "Drop the knife!" I yelled, but he didn't listen. Instead he walked towards me. His eyes were big and you could see he was afraid "I said, drop the knife! Now!". He began to run towards me and came too close so I put my finger on the trigger, but out of nowhere Nate jumped on the guy. He held him down and I quickly checked the girl. I putted my fingers in her neck and searched for a heartbeat. I felt it and as fast as I could I called for an ambulance and some backup to check the crime scene. I held my hands on her wound and tried to stop the bleeding...

..."Emma take it over, now!" I stopped shooting and went to the soldier on the ground. He was shot and needed help I took it over from Adam and he called for backup. We were on the battlefield, but the enemy was good. We were winning though, but there were to many wounded soldiers. I was helping a man whom I didn't know. He was hurt badly and I think he won't survive if he won't be helped quickly...

I gasped, the memories are feeling so real. "Are you alright?" Nate asked worried. "Yes, I'm. She's loosing to much blood though" as I said it I grabbed my belt. I wrapped it around her stomach where the wound was and pulled it tight enough to stop the bleeding a little. Nate chuckled "smart". The backup and ambulance arrived. They took the guy and helped the girl. I washed my hands and went to Nate who was talking with another cop. "Well done parter!" I said poking in his side. "You are the one that just saved her live" he said chuckling "but you saved mine" I said smiling. Nate laughed "I know! What would you do without me?" He said sighing dramatically. We stepped in the car and got back to the police station. I had to change, because my knees were covered with blood.

I was sitting at my desk checking out a case. There was a man killed and left behind with only a little bag with clothes in it. The clothes were strange tough, because they weren't from this decade. "Did you found a clue?" Nate asked me from behind. "I think so, but I don't know yet" I kept looking at the screen, but I felt him staring at me. I turned around to look at him "what?" I asked curious. His brown eyes kept staring at mine and I started to get nervous. "Don't do that, you make nervous" I said a little shy. "I'm just kidding" he said with a smile. He slicked his hair to the back and sat down on his seat. We talked a little about the case and about each other.

We laughed and before we knew it it was already dark outside. We went downstairs to the lobby and we waited at Jason. Nate insisted to wait with me so we were there standing looking at our phone. I made a picture and laughed "you look good at this picture" "picture? Let me see" (picture is above) he started laughing "it looks as if my jacket is to tight" now I laughed too. "Send it to me" I send it and Jason finally appeared. "Finally!" I said relieved. We walked to our cars and Nate said goodbye. He left and Jason and I were alone we stepped in my car and drove away.

"Jason? I was thinking about all of this and I think something is off" "what do you mean?" I sighed and looked at him. "It's odd that Nate and I sometimes are detectives and sometimes police officers. It's like you're testing us and you like it too. You're hiding something and I want to know what it is" Jason smiled, but I was very serious. His smile disappeared and he gave answer "look I fully trust you, you know that, but I want to know what's better for you. Both police officer and detective are though jobs, but for a soldier it could be easier than for a normal cop. I don't know what you still can and can't". I sighed "my memories are coming back" "what?!" He said shocked. "How? When? Why?" "They came back two weeks ago, but I only remember them if I do something that is similar to the memories. I especially remember the army" Jason looked at me with wide eyes. "Is that why you wanted to be an cop?" I bit my lip "maybe". "Do you like it?" Jason asked "I really do! The team is amazing, my partner is amazing and even I'm good in what I do!" I said enthusiastic. Jason chuckled "you and Nate have more in common than you think" "what do you mean" "oh, you'll find out soon".
