Fitting in

It's been two months since I started my job. Nate has been really nice and not hard at all. He makes most people laugh at the office including me. Because he thought it was getting a little boring he decided to give everyone an odd name. For example he named someone toothbrush, because he thinks his haircut looked like it.

"How about Dinner-Winner" I said while we leaned backwards on our chairs looking at a guy that was always eating. "Mhm, nah. That would be too obvious. Ah!" He started laughing. "I got the perfect name!" He said enthusiastic. I guess he had an awesome name in mind because he was laughing so hard that the other side of the station could probably hear him. "Well?" I asked laughing because he looked like a crazy man. He stopped laughing "okay, okay. Ready... W". I couldn't resist it, I laughed so hard I couldn't stop anymore. "You were laughing because of W?" I laughed in disbelief. "Of cours! You know w, double you. As in you definitely would fit two times in his body" he said waiting for my reaction. I rolled my eyes "yeah I got that. Alright, he'll be called W" I admitted. He proudly smiled.

"Today was so long!" He wined letting his head fall backwards on his chair. "I know, right" I sighed back. "Let's get a drink then!" We heard behind us. On the same moment we rolled our chairs around looking for the person who said it. Mia smiled happily at us. "Please, it will be fun!" She said. I looked over to Nate his hair was slicked back and although he looked tired he also looked happy. Mia on the other side, she still looked full of energy, but something was bothering her, I could see it. "I'm in" I said. "I'm not" Nate wined. "Why not?! Come on it will be nice I promise!" Mia groaned. Nate looked at her and she tried her puppy eyes "please?". He finally gave up. "Alright. I'll get Luke" he said standing up.

Wile he walked away I turned to Mia. I looked at her with my sad eyes and signed her to sit down on Nate's chair. I kept questioning starring at her. What probably made her a little uncomfortable. "What?" She asked "oh come on Mia! I can tell there's something going on. What's up?" "Is it so obvious?" She asked sadly and I nodded. She let a deep sigh escape her mouth. "I got in a little fight with Luke" she explained. I raised my brow "Emma you don't get it. I never got in a fight with him, he's my best friend!" She said sadly. "I'm not looking at you, because I think you're overreacting, but because I know it will be okay. I've been here for a small two months and I already know you two are inseparable" I explained. "Oh.." "come on where is the happy Mia? Smile or I'm gonna make you smile!" I said wile I gave her a unexpected hug.

"We are ready!" I heard Nate yell. I turned around and grabbed my jacket from my chair. I quickly threw the used plastic cups in the garbage. Both Nate and I had drank coffee, but it had already got cold. I putted my jacket on and turned to the others. "We are too" I winked at Mia and she smiled thankfully back.

I took my own car and Mia drove with me. Apparently she normally got picked up by Luke or went with the taxi. I turned the radio on and put the volume just a little harder. Nate and Luke both went in Nate's car. "Omg, this is my tune!" Mia gasped. She turned the volume even harder and we both sung along. I putted the windows down, because it was getting hotter inside the car. We danced and Nate and Luke were both looking at us from their window. But we didn't care. We continued our duet and when the song was over both boys clapped their hands. Nate almost hit another car. Mia screamed, I gasped and Luke laughed. "I'm alright!" Nate yelled to us with his windows down. We all started laughing. I saw Mia look at Luke and he immediately turned a little red. I can swear those two will end up together.

After a while we all arrived safely at the club. "I'm so excited!" Mia said enthusiastically. I walked in front of the group. The rue was short. People chatted and looked all dressed up, although in my opinion they looked a little slutty. I quickly looked away, because I didn't want to be that person that's staring at strangers. I looked up and catches Nate staring at me. He smiled and looked away.

Apparently Mia was talking with him but I cut her off because it was our turn. I tried to walk inside, but one of the guards told me to stop. I looked questioning at him. "Is there a problem?" I heard a voice behind me say. I turned around and saw Nate stepping closer. The guard looked to the other one. It was taking too long so I decided to walk past the two inside the building. I don't know why, but they didn't even stop me. Nate isn't that scary, right? I felt the presence of the others behind me. "So.. where do we start?" I asked looking at the people.

It was very big from inside the music was turned on its hardest. I could feel the ground shake under my feet. A DJ was playing and the crowd was jumping on the rhythm, but the best part was the bar. There were two bartenders which seemed to enjoy themselves with some girls.

Mia dragged me to the bar and Luke and Nate followed us. We took our seats and one of the bartenders asked what we wanted. "We want a shot!" Mia responded excited. I looked over to the guys and they looked trough the crowd, probably looking for some girls or something. We all got our shots and started drinking. We partied and I could tell both Mia and Luke were drunk already. I wasn't but I did dance along. Mia had some moves, but the guys didn't want to dance, so I danced with her. Luke just couldn't stop drinking. I could tell he was hurt because of their fight. I don't know what they told each other, but it's just sad to see them like this.

I was tired we were dancing for a hour or so. I noticed a guy was touching Mia and I panicked. "Hey you perf! Let go of her!" I pulled Mia towards me and she giggled. "Wow babe, calm down. Are you jealous?" He winked at me. "Eww" I turned around quickly and took Mia with me to Nate and Luke. I just didn't feel comfortable anymore. I found the boys still sitting by the bar and Nate had a girl on his lap. They were already kissing like their lives depended on it. "Eh Nate? We should go" I said. Nate stopped and looked at me. "Are you kidding me?!" I said, because he was drunk as hell. "And who are you?!" The girl said with disgust in her eyes. I sighed "just shove" I said grabbing her wrist, pulling her off his lap. She gasped and stormed madly into the crowd. I smiled to myself, but realized I had to get three persons out of this club. Luke was totally in a different world. "Mia Luke is a little sick. Can you help me bring him to the doctor?" I asked with a childish voice, hoping it would help. "Oh no is Lukey sick we have to be quick!" Yes! I grabbed Luke with one arm and Mia grabbed the other and with my empty hand I held Nate's arm.

It all went smoothly and I managed to open the door and get Luke and Mia Inside. "Hey babe, did you miss me?" I heard a familiar voice say behind me and my heartbeat rose. I turned around and saw the man from before with the girl that was previously sitting on Nate's lap with two other guys. I quickly turned around not wanting to get into trouble. "Babe don't be hard on me" he said and touched my arm. I just snapped. I turned around and gave him a punch in the face. Shit. The guy got angry and gave me a harder punch back. "You shouldn't have done that" he said awfully calm. The two other men came closer. I still had my hand on my cheek feeling something wet. I looked at my hand and of course I saw blood. I heard someone groan and saw Nate's face turning angry. He walked to one of the men and gave him a really hard punch. I can tell, because I swear I heard something snap. The other one ran up to him and so did the perf. They started fighting and I quickly helped Nate out. I mean he was drunk as hell sometimes he just stamped on the floor.

When all of the men were down I stared at the girl. "Got what you wanted?" I turned around and Nate was sitting on the ground sighing "the next time I want more ketchup on the sandwiches!" I helped Nate get in the car and putted his seat belt on. "Hey Emma?" Nate asked tired, "yes?" "You have ketchup on your cheek" I laughed at his remark. "Yeah, I know I was hungry" Nate nodded "yeah, I guessed so".

Mia and Luke were already sleeping and Nate was dozing off too, so I decided to bring them to my house. When I arrived home, thank god, no one had puked and they were still sleeping. I opened my front door and got them one by one inside. Nate and Luke slept on the couches and Mia slept in my bed. I got a blanket and a pillow for both the guys. After I was done with them I washed the blood off my face and placed some special plaster on the deep cut. I washed Nate hand too. His knuckles were opened and I wrapped it with bandages. I got in my pajama, got coffee and sat in my garden with a blanket...

Do you think Emma handled right or shouldn't she had punched that guy?
Isn't she nice btw she helped her friends out and she barely even know them!
