"It's almost over" I thought out loud while I opened my eyes. I have two days left. I sighed loudly looking around for Joey. I found him sleeping by my feet. Geez I'm going to miss this little guy so much. Nate made this only tougher for me. Nate... my heart skipped a beat thinking about his name. Although I know he don't love me, I love him. No matter what, I won't forget him. No one tried to please me as hard as he did. He was nice, made everyone laugh, was a good partner and don't forget this past week. Because of him I met my grandma. I'm going to miss Alex and Mia too they were my best friends and Jason he was there for me since I opened my eyes. And don't forget Luke and Rosie of course.
Today I was going out with Jason. He told me we would go to a chique restaurant as our last 'thing' together, because the last moment I will actually be able to see him is when I'll leave.
The past days I've been working out extra hard to get ready for the army again. I've worked literally day and night. I mean you can't expect to handle all that hard work there without preparation, right?
The day flew by and it was already six o'clock. I've curled my hair and got myself in a beautiful mini dress.

I was choosing my shoes when the door rang. I hurried downstairs and opened the door to see Jason. He wore a white blouse, black jeans, with elegant shoes and had his hair done. "Looking good" I said while he gave me a hug. "You too pumpkin" he winked, "are you ready?" He asked. "One moment" I said and quickly hurried back upstairs to choose some shoes. I scanned all of them and finally went for my white sneakers, because I don't really like high heels. I picked up my phone from the bed and grabbed a matching bag.
When I came downstairs I saw Jason sitting on the couch with Joey on his lap. "I'm ready" I said and he got up. It broke my heart to leave Joey alone again, but apparently dogs weren't allowed in the restaurant. I shut the door behind me and took my seat. Jason looked at me and smiled "are you ready?" "I am" "I need you to wear this mask, it's a surprise where I'm going to take you" he said and I gave him a questioning look. "Trust me" he laughed while blindfolding me. I did as he said and just waited.
We drove for a few minutes till we finally arrived. "Can I take the mask off?" "No, almost" he walked over to my door and guided me to somewhere. It was quite, too quite. I heard a door shut. "You aren't going to kill me, right?" He laughed "take your mask off" I followed his order. "Surprise!" I was startled by all the people that were standing around me. The room was decorated beautifully and all the people I knew with a few more were here. Apparently we were in Nate's house. I put my hand on my mouth and had tears in my eyes as I turned to look at everyone. I really didn't expect this. A tear fell down my cheek followed by another one. Out of the crowd Nate came and gave me a tight hug "don't cry" he whispered. "I'm not, my eyes are just sweating" I sobbed. Everyone laughed and the music turned on. Most people started to dance and Nate let go.
It was really crowded. I greeted everyone with a hug. Mia, Luke and Alex gave me a even tighter one. "Don't forget me!" I heard behind me. A voice I recognized immediately. "Grandma!" She opened her arms and I hurried to her. "I love you" she said "I love you too". I went over to Jason and gave him a hug too. "You're a good actor" "I know" he answered. He gave me a glass of champagne and just started partying. Alex, Mia and I stole the show. We danced and I could tell everyone was happy. "Whose idea was it?" I asked. "Nate's" Mia answered. I could feel the butterflies in my stomach and my face brightening up. I went to the garden for some fresh air and Mia followed me.
I sat down on a couch and drank my glass of wine. "So how is it between you and Nate" Mia asked amusing. "What do you mean?" I asked confused. "You've spent a lot of time together. Sometimes that changes a person. And by the way you would make a cute couple" she winked. A tiny smirk appeared on my face "would we?". Mia's eyes widened "omg I at least expected a gaze, but instead you smirk?! Don't tell me you're in lo..!" She yelled and I quickly put my hand on her mouth, feeling my cheeks redden. "Shhh, don't talk so hard" I whispered, looking if someone heard her. "So is it true? Are you in love with him?" She asked whispering this time. I nodded shyly. "Eeeek! That's so cute!" "It isn't" I replied. "I have to admit I didn't saw that one coming. You can hide your feelings pretty good, you know. I think he falls for you too though" I laughed at her remark "why do you think that?" Mia rolled her eyes before she started explaining "first off all did you ever met a guy that trews a party for 'just a friend'? Secondly he had planned his whole week with only your presence! Come on everyone would notice". I began to think. "Alex said the same thing, but I guess I'll never find out". Mia looked at me with pity, what made me realize I was overreacting again.
"Hello ladies!" My grandmother said happy while she sat down beside me. "Hey grams, how are you?" "I'm fine darling. I'm feeling young again, because I'm on a party with young adults! I'm wondering what drama will happen today, believe me there's always drama" Mia and I started laughing. "I hope you get what you want grams" I said "I know I will" she winked.
"Omg, I love this song!" Mia gasped "lets dance!". I looked to grandmother doubting if I should go. "What are you waiting for? Go!" She said. I smiled thankfully and went with Mia to the dance floor again. We started dancing song after song, as usual. This party was amazing, but I still wonder how Nate managed to get my grandmother here. Then it hit me, I didn't even thank him properly. "Hey Mia I'm going to look for Nate" I said in her ear so she could hear me over the music. She nodded and I started looking. Maybe I would even get him to talk about why he's doing this all.
I looked everywhere in the garden, in the kitchen and even on the driveway. He was probably upstairs or something. I walked upstairs. And saw a door just a little open. I walked towards it and knocked on the door. I opened it, but what I saw was probably the worst thing that could happen to me right now. I opened door and saw Alex on top of Nate, kissing him firmly. My heart broke in more than a thousand pieces. "Emma?!" Nate gasped. His hair was all messed up and Alex looked at me with a look I couldn't place. I turned around and tried to run as fast as possible, but because of my tears covering my sight I wasn't fast enough.
Someone grabbed my wrist tightly. I didn't want to look around, because I already knew who it was. "Emma" Nate's voice came out. I was shaking and tried to act as calm as possible, but I couldn't. He turned me around and I looked at the ground as I noticed a tear fall on it. "Emma, look at me" I ignored him and kept looking down. He lifted my chin and now his eyes met mine. He was shocked when another tear fell down my cheek. "Emma, I'm so sorry," he apologized. "It's not what it looks like" how in the freaking world could he say that? "Why are you apologizing? I don't want it" I said sobbing. "Because... I- I like you" "what do you expect me to do with that information? Do you expect me to say the same, so you could kiss me instead of Alex?!" I managed to say. "Well Nate... I hate you!" I started sobbing even harder. Nate let go of me as his eyes changed into an icecold gaze and I ran downstairs.
Everyone looked at me and I ran in Mia's arms. "Bring me home, please" I sobbed. Without saying a word she pulled me out of the house, guiding me to her car. She started it and when we were on the road she turned to me. "What the fuck just happened?" "Please just.. don't" I replied. But that was a good question. What the fuck just happened? How could Alex do this to me? Before tonight she was the only one that knew. Couldn't she wait one night?! I started sobbing harder. Nate just told me he loved me... but I can't believe him. He once told me he wasn't the type that's looking for girls, but guess what. "Emma, just tell me what happened" Mia begged worriedly. I sighed "I found Alex on top of Nate... she was the only one that knew". Mia looked gasping at me "Emma, I'm so sorry. I'm going to kill her I swear!". A tiny chuckle escaped my mouth and Mia smiled gently to me. "And the worst part is that Nate admitted he likes me" I managed to say.
Poor Emma. Isn't that just rude?! She saw Alex as her best friend and this is what she gets in return? And how about Nate he loves her but is kissing with Alex?! Or was he right, it's not what's it looked like. Let me know what you think that actually happened! XOXO
