I can't believe my eyes my 6'2",brown haired,green eyed,24 year old brother was standing right in front of me, but he wasn't standing on his feet. He had one Mechanical leg.

"What happened t-to your left leg????" I was crying and shocked

"I lost it, when I was deployed." He said

"Solider Thank you for your commitment to the US Army. Thank you for your 4 years of being Deployed." The solider's saluted my brother.

" Your welcome Sargent!" my brother saluted back. I always looking up to my brother Saluted back.

They got in the truck and left. I helped Jacob get into the house. I was so glad he was home that I just fell asleep on the couch while watching tv. I was holding on to his arm so he couldn't leave.

I woke up after a hour on the couch.

"Jacob wake up let's surprise mom" I said trying to wake him up.

"Sure why not Jules " he said getting up.

I started making a plan. When I heard the garage open. I hurried and hid Jacob in the hall.

"Mom don't you ever miss Jacob!" I asked

She stopped in her tracks. "Why do you ask" she barley made out.

" Well u always get mad at me for saying his name. " I said grabbing a apple

"Like I said to you yesterday, no matter what your still my daughter and he is still my son. Even if he chose to leave us. " She said. I could see the pain in her eyes she got from just saying that.

"Mom....." mom turned around and just collapsed on the chair she was standing by.

"Jacob my baby your back."she was balling her eyes out now.

" Mom I missed u so much" Jacob walked over to mom and gave her a huge hug

"Baby what happened to you." She asked pointing to his left leg.

" It's just a mechanical leg I'm fine. " Jacob said before pulling me and mom in together for a hug.

"Your room... it's back to normal!" Jacob said walking into my room

"Well"i started to fill Jacob on everything he missed in the last 4 years of my life.

"But what about that box?" Jacob pointed to my closet

"I tried but I wasn't ready yet" I said

" Go get the box " he commanded

"But---"

"Go get it" he said

I went and grabbed the box.

He started opening it.

"So that's why you didn't want to open it" he said grabbing a teddy bear that said Daddy loves you!! in a small red heart. That the bear held.

"Yea it's everything from my childhood." I said sitting next to him.

He then grabbed an album. It had a huge number 5 on it.

"That ones has all my pictures from when I was 5 years old." I opened the album. The first page had a picture if me and Jacob cutting my cake.

"Remember that one" I laughed at me and Jacob standing on the porch of Aunt Anna's house. We were both wearing my cousins Jason's clothes because we decided to play in the rain. "Oh look at that" Jacob chuckled. Both of us had cake on our face.

All night we just laughed at our picks in all my albums. After a while mom also joined in.

Jacob left when Julie was 13. She was in grade 7. If you remember in the beginning that Jake died in 2011 and that's when she changed her whole life
