chapter 3

waec is in a week now, we get so attached to our books. Me being close to Khadija, we decided to study together. But Khalid being the annoying guy he is, he kept on disturbing us.We  left the house and went to mine.

"Finally yhu girls decided to leave your books and have fun" Khalid said as he walked in Khadija's room making us stop throwing pillows at each other."What do yhu want?"Khadija asked him.
"just checking who my twin sis is laughing out loud with" he answered
he turned to me "and who is it if not Azee the troublemaker" He walked out with that.

Have i told yhu, Khalid don't need to study cause he is a brainy. And Khadija is the opposite, she need to studg really hard and many time to understand.

"Hows the exam" Teemah asked us
"Alhamdulillah " we answered. Teemah want to study pharmacy while Samie accountant. Me and Khadija law.

"Am exhausted and tired. Just want to sleep and rest my brain" Samie said
"Am hungry" Khadija said.
"same" i said
"treat on me"Teemah said.
"I'll call Khalid to take us since he's home doing nothing" Khadija said
We waited for him for 30mins and left.

"What should i get for yhu ladies" the waiter said in a flirting manner while Khalid glare him.
"wants some burger and fries and pure mongo juice.....um......yes with lasagna and milkshake. thats all i guess" Khalid said making us all gaps
"WHAT" he asked
"where the hell are yhu going to put all that" Teemah asked
"there is something called stomach doubt yhu know it. Wander how yhu are copping with science" he murmured while she hit him with her book. "okay, that wasn't necessary"

"Oreo milkshake and fries " Samie order
"shawarma ,fries and strawberry  milkshake" Teemah said
"brownies and chocolate ice cream". Khadija said
"Lasagna, fries and chocolate milkshake please" i said lastly.

When our order were served, we dig in. Thats when i realize how hungry i was.

"Yhu have not said anything about the university you'll be attending" Mama said to me.
"Oh am going to baze me and Khadija. We can stay at Yaya Saif "
"I dont know why Saif has to listen to what yhu want. Amma in banda hauka irin taki how will yhu think of going to his house with a friend and stay there for a long period. He and his wife might not even be comfortable with the idea. Think of something else my friend." mama scold
"sorry I m didn't thought about that but am sure he won't have a problem with that" i said
"even if he have, he won't say anything" Yaya Yusrah said
"Think of something better of you'll end up in one of the university here in yola" mama said
"okay"

"my parents are coming back tonight"
Khadija said enthusiasm while Khalid look unhappy .
Their parents always travel around the globe for business purpose and leave their children home alone.
Khadija hated the idea while Khalid is more than okay with it.
"Cool, that's great. Means no more partying for Khalid"I said
"shout up Azee" he said walking to his room.

"Am so happy" Khalid shriek as their parents postpone their arrival. "Go to your room and celebrate. Yhu are disturbing me" Khadija stated sadly.
"Its okay babe, am here. And am sure they'll be back in no time" I said trying to comfort her. "Thanks Azee".

Before the that of Baba,we were living good. We aren't that wealthy but alhamdulillah we are satisfied with what we have. After his death, things were messy. Grieving his death and having financial problem. But now alhamdulillah we are getting better more than before.
Khadija's life is different. They are stupidly rich, so wealthy but their family have no time for each other. Her parents are always on a business trip, making money. Khadija always complain about that but Khalid on the other hand is more pleased with their parents not staying home all the time.

 

"Its getting late, i better get going before mama start looking for me" I said adjusting my hijab
"thanks Azee, yhu are the best " she said hugging me
"What are friends for"

"Azeezah Muhammad Ali don't tell me yhu are just coming back" Mama said
thought she won't notice or mind but guess not. Am in deep shit now cause mama don't approve this staying at a friend house for hours and to add to it , its 11:35pm.

"Mama am sorry, Khadija was expecting her................" i was cut off by her
"I didn't ask yhu the reason yhu stay there for long. If their parent can't take care of their children they should travel with them or find them a nanny to stay with them. Yhu know i don't tolerate this kind of behavior. Allah only knows how those children are living and their parent dont care. I care about you so i won't let my hard work go in vain" She continued and continued. After her long lecture, i apologize and went bed.

Exam was over, Khadija and Khalid traveled to Spain to meet their parent. Weeks later she called informing me that they will be studying in San Fransisco. I wasn't happy but wished her best of lucks.

Teemah and Samie have left the state to visit their relatives and am alone.

Mama relatives aren't in touch with her cause she married Baba against their wish. While Baba relatives are only Aunty Juwairiyyah, Uncle Yusuf, Uncle Sadiq and Uncle Mahmud. They all live here in Yola.

Our  result was out and lucky me got admitted to baze.
