The three of of us walked in tandem as we exited the elevator, my heart felt lighter then it had in a long while. Me and my boys. That was till we approached the door to our apartment, and it was cracked. I could feel my heart leap into my throat as a wave of dread spread through like wildfire.
"Stay here." Chris said to me, looking at Sebastian. He turned and stepped over the threshold, Sebastian close on his heels. I knew though, he was long gone. I followed in behind them.
The living room was still how we left it, nothing out of place. Goosebumps raised on my arms as Chris turned in his spot, shaking his head. Sebastian closed the door behind me, his jaw dropped instantly.
She's mine! Was scrawled a cross the back of the door in blood. A slow tear rolled down my cheek as I closed my eyes tight. The dread I had feeling turned into horror. The nightmare was just beginning.
"What the hell?" Chris breathed, I heard him walk around me. Please, don't be worse then this.
"Is that blood?" Sebastian asked.
"Don't touch it!" I stated quickly, panic causing my brain to speed up. Both of them spun to face me. I finally opened my eyes, glancing at the horror in their faces.
I spun quickly and darted down the hall to the bathroom, I could hear both of them following me. I flung open the door, I stormed in grasping the closed shower curtain and ripped it to the side. I wish I could say that I freaked out, or was shocked by what I found. But this was Richard, I knew what he was capable of.
The poor girl looked liked he had thrown her in the tub while she had been alive. Blood was splattered on every surface of the tub, covering the walls, and leading in a thick trail to the drain.
"Oh my god." I heard Chris behind me, my tears fell with out reserve this time.
"Is she.. we have to call.." Sebastian stated, trying to form a coherent sentence.
"Stop!" I almost yelled, spinning around to face them. Both of them looking up at me in shock, I took a ragged breath. This was my fault, I should of gotten on that bus. I never should of come back.
"Jay, we have to call the police." Sebastian stated, looking at me like I was crazy.
"You do that and we'll end up with the Feds here and I'll be arrested." I told him, this hurt worse then anything Richard had put me through. I bit my bottom lip, I could taste the salt from my tears.
"Why would you be arrested?" Chris asked, I could hear the confusion in his voice.
"Richard." I finally opened my eyes back up, both my blue eyed men looking at me for explanation. "Richard works for the FBI, I can promise you that girl has a missing persons report from out of state. You call the cops, they'll run a check and since she was kidnapped, most likely a live, the Feds will be called in. When I escaped, a body of a man was found, the man who's car I hot-wired, my DNA was all over him."
"What?" Sebastian breathed, his jaw went slack, he took a step back.
"I didn't do it, I promise you. He killed him so that no matter where I run, no matter how hard I try and hide, it will never be enough. The apartment I lived in was under the name Monika, the strip club Rachel. I don't own a car cause I can't produce a drivers license." Suddenly the dam broke, once I started I couldn't stop. Everything pouring out at once as I sobbed. "He made it so that no matter what happens he would find me. And he can, he's the FBI."
"Jay?" Chris breathed.
"Who's going to believe a girl with an arrest warrent for murder over a man with sparkling FBI record?" I looked from one the other, Chris's face was mix of shock and confusion but Sebastian, his face was flat. There was no emotion in his face or his eyes, and it scared me. "No one, that's who. I run, and I keep running. Cause he finds the city I'm in and puts an APB out for me, I know if he finds me, if he gets me, that warrant disappears and so do I."
"Jay.." I cut Chris off before he get anything out.
"This is my fault, and now, he has both of your hands tried behind your backs." I cried out at them, my arms crossed in front of my chest.
"How?" Chris asked, looking behind me at the dead girl.
"Don't you see, you have no alibi." I stated softly, shaking my head. "Sebastian was on set, you weren't. If you say you were with me, it doesn't matter cause in the eyes of the law I'm already a murdered, those goes any credibility you have. If you say you were by yourself, then you could of easily done it."
"What about that whole figuring out how long she's been dead? Surely that would have some play into it and finger prints."
"Chris, he's probably been watching the apartments since the day he jumped me. When we left this morning he drug her up here and killed her. Time lines when it comes to a dead body aren't accurate to a precise moment, it's a guesstimate. He would of worn gloves, and it would matter cause you've touched everything in this house." I sighed, my body slowly starting to feel like it was draining.
"What do we do?" Sebastian finally spoke, I could hear the anger in his voice.
"You call the cops, and tell them someone broke into your apartment." I conceded, turning around to the dead girl, slowly reaching out to her.
"What are you doing?!" Chris shouted as I placed my hand on her cold shoulder.
"Saving you."
