Flashback; 14 years earlier
Izzy Blake, who had been four years old at the time, giggled to herself as she climbed up the small steps that led to the playground area at Pickens Park. Her older brothers, Matthew and Andrews sat on the swings together, talking to a couple of girls that were in their grade while they were supposed to watching their younger sister. They figured she'd be fine by herself, nothing bad ever happened in Riverdale.
Izzy climbed to the top, standing near the top of the largest slide on the whole playground. It was a blue slide and was by far Izzy's favorite slide at the whole park, everyone in her family knew that.
As Izzy went to go down the slide, someone cut in front of her.
She scoffed loudly as she glared at the boy. He seemed to be the same age as her, maybe even a year younger. He had dark hair that almost looked back and brown eyes, just like Izzy had. He didn't seem to care that he cut in front of Izzy as she was about to go down the slide.
"Hey! I was about to go down the slide," She pouted, crossing her small arms over her chest, "You cut me, I was first."
The boy seemed to roll his eyes at her in annoyance, "Well, too bad. I'm here now." He argued and Izzy got angry, pushing him lightly.
He gave Izzy a cold stare before pushing her back. He didn't know how hard he pushed her until Izzy was on the floor of the playground. She looked up at him, seeming furious.
"Oops?" He commented, trying to play it off as he held his hands up.
Izzy growled as she abruptly got up from the metal floor of the playground. Once she got to her feet, she extended her arms out and roughly pushed the boy backward, causing him to fall down the slide. He screamed out as he fell down the slide going sideways, his head and feet hanging off the slide as he went down. Izzy stared down at the boy going down the slide, a shocked expression on her face.
The boy ended up falling on top of two other children that looked to be the same age as them. Izzy could have sworn she heard a crack as they all collided with each other. The three kids groaned out in pain as they all laid on top of each other at the bottom of the stairs.
Izzy thought about just leaving right then and there to let the three kids fend for themselves, but her parents had been teaching recently about apologizing when you did something wrong and to help people in need. She didn't really like apologizing, but she thought she'd do it for the sake of her parents. They would hear about it and be proud, or so she thought.
Izzy ran down the stairs of the playground and made her way over to the three injured children. No parents seemed to even notice that the three kids were hurt, causing Izzy to feel bad for them.
Izzy stood in front of the three children that were her age, staring down at them, "Are you guys okay?" She asked concerned as she pulled the boy she pushed down the slide off the other kids.
"Ow! My leg!" The boy screamed out as he tried to stand up and fell back down, "I think it's broken. Aw, my aunt's gonna kill me!"
The other boy began to cry as he held his arm, "What did you do to my arm!" He screamed out in pain, "My arm hurts so much."
The other girl that they toppled over got up, stood up and walked over to the boy that had a broken arm, "Let's get you to your parents, these kids are psycho," The girl spoke up, "What's your name?"
"Fangs." He replied as he began to walk away with her, "What's yours?"
"Toni," She smiled brightly.
Izzy turned to the boy who was sitting on the ground, unable to get up, "Look, dude. I'm not sorry. You pushed me and I pushed you. That's payback."
"You broke my leg!" He shouted back at her and Izzy sighed.
"Don't be dramatic." She retorted, crossing her arms, "If you really want, I can help you walk to your parents."
The boy shook his head, "My parents aren't here. I live with my aunty." He informed her, "She dropped me off, told me she would pick me up after. I'm stuck here. I'm Sweet Pea, by the way."
"Izzy. Izzy Blake," She introduced herself to the boy, "I'll stay here with you if you want. Or I could get my brother to stop trying to pick up girls and bring you to the doctors." She offered and Sweet Pea nodded his head.
"Doctor's please." He replied and Izzy held her hand out.
She gestured for him to take it, which he gladly did. As she tried to pull him up, his weight was too much and they both fell to the ground. Izzy couldn't help but giggle and Sweet Pea laughed also, even though he was suffering the pain from a broken ankle or even broken leg.
A couple of weeks later:
After Sweet Pea was treated for a broken leg, he and Izzy started their first year of preschool together. In the couple of weeks after Izzy pushed him down the slide and broke his leg, they had surprisingly gotten to be friends with each other. Best friends to be exact.
"I wonder if anyone we know is in our glass," Sweet Pea stated as Izzy's eyes widened.
"Uh, oh," Izzy said quietly, pointing over to Fangs and Toni, who were standing together a couple feet away. Fangs had a cast on his right arm while Toni had a band-aid placed on her forehead. Fangs noticed them staring and made his way over to the two kids, an angry look on his face.
"Look, I'm--" Before Sweet Pea could finish his sentence, Fangs had punched Sweet Pea in the face, landing him on the ground. Izzy gasped when she saw the tooth fall from Sweet Pea's mouth, "Your tooth! You lost your tooth!" Izzy yelled at Sweet Pea, who gasped shocked.
Fangs seemed to be shocked also, it was clearly his first time actually punching someone.
Sweet Pea nervously laughed as he looked up Fangs and Toni, "Friends?" He asked and Fangs and Toni shrugged before walking off without another word said to Izzy and Sweet Pea.
AN: Just a filler until it's back to Izzy in the woods. I've been wanting to do this ever since I had that chapter where FP, Alice, Sweet Pea, and Izzy all had dinner together and Izzy explained how she and her friends met.
