Her

I looked at her through shaded lenses

Afraid to see what she truly was

Because I knew that when I took them off,

She would blaze brighter than the flames in her eyes

Burning brighter than any star in the galaxy

She didn't wait for me

But I didn't need to see her to know she was magnificent

She didn't need my approval to be

She just was

I could marvel at her for hours, shielded only by tinted glass

She was fierce

Scorching my skin after hours of waiting to see her leave

Waiting to see her retreat

Waiting to see the bursts of gold fade

Waiting for the rays of baby blue to disappear

Waiting for splashes of every color imaginable to surround her

She will rise

And we will meet again
