Saturday Morning/ Same Day
"I'll see you later, right?" Amaru asked as I got out the car.
"Yeah." I nodded.
"Alright." He smirked as I closed the door.
I walked the trail that lead to my front door, slowly. I could feel Amaru and I becoming closer than ever before. Not just as best friends but so much more. I knew that time would cause every thing to fall into place and that's what made things even more exciting.
I used my key to unlock my front door before I entered my house. When I walked in, my mom was sitting on the living room couch.
"Hey baby." She spoke to me.
"Hey mom." I smiled, taking a seat next to her.
"You spent the night over Amaru's?" She asked and I nodded.
"I texted you." I assured her.
"I know, I got it." She smiled.
"Are you guys together?" She asked.
"Mom." I whined, smiling.
"What? I can't ask?" She said.
"We told y'all already, we're taking it slow." I told her.
"How slow?" She said eyeing me.
"What do you mean mom?" I giggled.
"You know exactly what I mean, I know you didn't sleep in Amani's bed." She said to me making me laugh.
"Oh my god." I shook my head.
"Come on, spill the tea." She said waving her hand for me to go on.
"No, we're definitely not there yet." I told her truthfully.
"Good." She said, letting out a breath of relief.
"Yeah, you don't have to worry about that any time soon." I giggled.
"Good, Amaru's a great boy and I'm happy you guys are finally interested in each other but remember you're best friends first, 11 years in. Y'all don't want to risk losing a friendship as strong as that. Real friends are hard to come by these days. Just take things as slow as possible. Please." She said to me and I nodded.
"I understand." I said.
After talking to her for a few more minutes, I eventually got up and went upstairs to take a shower and brush my teeth.
Once I was finished, I dried myself off and hopped into my bed. It was only 12:39pm and I was still tired, I needed to sleep.

I searched through my closet for what I was going to wear tonight. This is me and Riley's first official date, so I was nervous. I wanted everything to be perfect.
