One month later..
Riley
Saturday, April 17th
I laid in bed, writing in my journal as I was on FaceTime with Amani."Yeah." I said to her as she asked me yet another question about prom next month.
"What colors are you and Amaru wearing again?" She asked.
"Red and Black." I said to her as I jotted things down.
"I think I want to wear white." She said and I furrowed my eyebrows.
"This is not a wedding." I giggled.
"Yeah but I mines well get prepared." She said and I rolled my eyes.
Amani and Jay were supposedly engaged. Amaru hasn't spoken to Amani since she told him and I've been trying to talk her out of it.
"Mani." I said looking into the camera.
"Ri, I'm doing this." She said and I shook my head.
"What do you think your mom is going to say?" I asked her.
"She isn't going to know." She said and I scoffed.
"Mani, he isn't right for you." I told her, truthfully.
"I think he is..." She trailed off, pouting.
"Can you please just be happy for me Ri, I need at least one person to be." She said sadly and I nodded, sympathetically.
"Alright." I sighed, giving up.
"Thank you." She said, moving around.
"Amaru's FaceTiming me." I said as his name popped up on the screen.
"Alright, answer for your man.." She flagged, making me laugh.
"Call me back when y'all hang up." She said.
"Alright." I said answering his call.
"Whats up, babygirl?" He said as his face came onto the screen, making me smile.
"Hey." I smiled, putting my pen down.
"I miss you." He said.
