Dustin wrapped his arm around Will's waist. "So..." Dustin said nervously. Max squealed and and threw her arms around Will and Dustin. "Awwww! I'm so happy for you guys!" She whisper-yelled. Will chuckled before looking at me and turning beet red.

"Will...I-uh...Dustin...w-wow," I stammered. Max shot me a death glare. Will must've seen my discomfort because he cleared his throat and Dustin let go of his waist. "Well, I sure am tired!" Will exclaimed. He dragged Dustin into the room by the hand.

As soon as the two walked into the room, Max turned and sent me a look that could kill. "What is wrong with you?" She hissed.

"Wh-what do you mean..." I asked uncomfortable.

Max shook her head. "How could you? They deserve as equal right's as you do." She snapped. Her words stung. I felt as if she slapped me. I thought she'd realize what she said and apologize, but she just stood there with arms crossed and a foot tapping. "I-I know, babe..." I replied, calling her "babe" for the first time.

"Calling me babe won't make me happier." Max retorted. I sighed. My plan failed. I thought I could make her focus on something other than Will and Dustin. "They are happy and in love, just as we are, Lucas!" She almost yelled. I shushed her and got rewarded with another death glare. "I'm sorry..."I mumbled.

"It's not me you need to apologize to!" Max said with sudden quietness that terrified me.

"This discussion is over." Max announced and walked into the room. She left me there in the hallway with my thoughts. Oh Max...can't you see? I am happy for Will and Dustin...
