19: The way it used to be

Adriel's POV

I woke up to the sound of Nathaniel blowing his trumpet. Ugh...he didn't tell me that he's gonna be playing that noise again. After seeing Zach's actions yesterday, i didn't wanna talk to him. We drove off in silence. He dropped me off in silence. The damage he did to that guy who touched me was brutal. I bet he has a broken leg and arm. He fought back though not my problem.

I go on my phone to check my Instagram . 20 missed calls pop up on my screen from Zach. I felt bad because i switched off my phone, i wanted to sleep in peace.

"Adriel....wake up". Kelaiah walks in my room with pancakes. "Are you okay honey....did something happen between you and Zach". She gives me a hug and i smile back at her

"No...we just had a bad day at Chipotle but don't worry about it"

"Adriel?". I hum in response. "You can tell me anything if you want. I can be your big sister...am the only child so i wanna know how it feels. Am here for you sweetie. Ok "

"Ok Kelaiah i understand. Thank you "

"No problem darling"

I get up and change after eating my breakfast. Nathaniel and Kelaiah were gonna drop me off today. Its been a while since life worked like that. I'll just hide again like i always did. The person who couldn't stand up. Natalie was easy. Others wont

I walked into the hallway. It was normal again no drama and that. All i had was my bag of chips and my book bag. Tiffany wasn't coming to school today since she had a doctors appointment so Adam followed her. I was just by myself. Looking for Zach was gonna put more pressure on me.

I walk into Mr Davidson's Gym class. No one was there "Hello Adriel...Football season this week. I wanted to ask if you can tutor some of the boys if its okay with you". I wanted to take the offer at the same time not. Maybe this would take all the people hunting for me, and the Zach stress away.

"Yes Mr Davidson. I would love to try that out"

"Well thank your Miss Korneko. Am glad you agreed ". I smiled at him then went to sit down. Suddenly all the other students walked in. I saw Draco, Harrison and Ciara but i couldn't find Zach. The lesson carried on. After a few 10-15 mins Zack pulled up to class with messy hair and a busted lip. His knuckles were still bleeding. I was wondering if he fought again. To be honest i don't know who to trust James or Zach. Who is he really.

"Mr Marcello can you please come with me to my office". Mr Davidson and Zach walk into the office while everyone else did cheerleading and football practice. I sat down and watched since Natalie wouldn't let me join.

I got up to play basketball. I grew up playing this game no girl or boy will come tell me thats its not for me. I started shooting hoops as the class watched me. I couldn't hear what they were saying it was just me and my music. I was listening to walk it like i talk it- Migos. I kept practicing with my chocolate bar on the floor. I wanted to burn some calories after that chipotle trip which i don't wanna remind myself

I took my headphones off and saw that everyone stopped what they were doing. Draco joined me and we laughed as we played 1V1 with him. Mhm sis don't get me wrong i played 1V1 with a guy. I can do what a boy can do. "Miss Korneko....i see that love basketball". I nodded. "Would you like to be the Captain of the school new girls basketball team". I was panicking like what. ME

"I would love to do that Mr David-"

"Are you crazy. Girls don't play boy games"
