I had Operating System next, but my mind was somewhere else. Thankfully Li hopped into the classroom slightly flushed.

"Hey, Li come here girl." I waved my hand for her to notice me.

"Oh, Em. Where were you in the recess again?" She asked taking a seat beside me.

"Next to you all the time, only if you would have noticed." I whispered the second part to myself.

"Umm... yes sorry. I wasn't looking." She said switching on her desktop

"So, what's with my brother?" I asked her wiggling my eyebrows.

"Later, faculty is here." She said pointing towards the approaching figure of that faculty who checked me up in the morning. Gross. God, can this day get more worse? He introduced himself and he was generous all the way through his introduction and highlight of the subject. All of a sudden, his eyes fell on Li, he smiled a genuine caring smile and Li returned that. Following her his eyes landed on me and well something changed. His smile turned malicious, I felt nasty at the way he eyed me again. Throughout the lecture he had his eyes on me and I felt super irritated. I tried to hide myself behind the desktop, but to no profit. He came closer to my seat and brushed his pants against my hands. I gasped. This was the longest lecture of the whole day for me.

As soon the bell rang, I collected my things and flew out of the class, Lisa hot on my heels. "What was that?" I asked her

"What was what?" she asked

"You and Jon Carles? All that eyeing?" I asked her a bit harsh, frustration getting better of me.

"Damn you Emma, he is my brother in law to be. He is engaged to Misa, my elder sister if you remember." I didn't say anything. Voicing out my suspicion to her was worthless. Not only it can bring a turbulence in her sister and his relationship, but it can also affect ours. I kept my quiet.

"Emma, I have to go, my last class is Computer Networks. After that I will leave with Jon. Will you join us?" She asked. A ride home with Jon Carles was not on the list of my favourite 50 things so I declined.

I reached gym, the last lecture of the day, Matt was there. All of a sudden, I felt good. His eyes lighten up the moment he saw me. I waved at him. Gym was fun, I played Badminton. Matt volleyball. He would occasionally pass a smile or two towards me and I returned the gesture but the same can't be said about my first day at the college. I had had enough for the first day.

"Hey Emma, what's up?" Ed asked me as we walked back to our place.

"Nothing, what's up with Lisa and you?" I asked him wiggling my brows.

"Ahh, sister. You touched the wrong nerve." He said placing a hand over his chest.

"No, I mean it. What is it?" I pushed him.

"Go ask Matt about it. He seems quite interested in you. He might confide one or two of his dirty secrets with you." He said harshly, I was rendered speechless. Can Matt have any dirty secrets? He looked too innocent for that.

"Look, I am in a relationship with Annie. I know, I know you haven't met her. I will treat you both tomorrow after college. Then you can meet her. No talks about Lisa. Ok?" He said, this time a bit softer. His brotherly affection took better of him, but there was a certain finality in his tone so I let it go and made a mental note to price out the truth from Matt or from Emma.

"Let's go Em." He took my hand and started walking faster. God, I missed being so close to Ed. I missed his brotherly affection. I missed all those pranks we used to pull on others. Another smile popped on my lips and I cuddled closer to my brother.

"What exactly are you trying to do Emma?" He gave me a side look. I burst out laughing. Soon we reached home.

I have had enough for the first day, I decided to sleep. I tossed and turned, hugged my pillows, threw the sheets over and over again but sleep was nowhere to be found. My thoughts were stained with everything that happened from the morning till evening. Things were definitely not good and I had this anguish within me. A sense of uneasiness was engulfing me. Something was brewing up in the town, I could feel it. I sighed, went downstairs in to the kitchen. Tiana and mom were setting the plates. We had a peaceful dinner, minus dad and uncle Jack, but it was fun.

Author's Note: A filler chapter? Yes. Even these are as important as any other chapter. They help the story to move into the flow.

I was quite adamant on publishing it tomorrow but anyways here is the update, 1 day earlier. Yay!!
