"You know Em, I am your best friend. You can talk." As soon as the words left her mouth, I felt a wave of emotions wash over me. Yes, I wanted to talk, I wanted to get rid of the tension and pain which had resided within me for more than 3 years. But no one was there for me. I never had a shoulder to cry on. I didn't even had a best friend to share my past with, at the capital. I looked at her and she gave a huge sigh. She took my hands and nudged me to sit down.
"I never got to see him Li, they buried him even before I had a chance to bid him goodbye." I wailed out and placed my head on her shoulders. She hugged me and let me place my weight on her.
"How was he looking? Did he look peaceful, like sleeping after a tired day at gym? Were there any bruises on his body? Tell me Li!" I asked her.
"I never made it to his funeral. We weren't allowed. I tried calling you so we can sneak to the ceremony but that never happened." She sighed again.
"Oh, I loved him Lisa. Hell, I love him to date" all the power within me drained out.
"How do you feel now?" She asked me, patting my forehead.
"Not good. Ever since I have stepped here, I am losing my mind Li. I feel like someone's watching me, and most of all I feel guilty. 3 years and I never had the courage to come here and meet him. 3 years Lisa. I visit him every day now." I cried out a bit more.
"I know how it feels Em, to lose someone you love. I can totally understand that. But Alex is gone, you need to move on. You were in the capital for 3 years, God Emma you found no-one?" She gave me a soft smile.
"No, I was too distraught for that. Live at capital was hectic...." I trailed off
"Li" I called out to her after some time of solemn silence.
"Hmm?"
"Is there anything I need to know regarding Ed and you?" This time I sat straight and looked into her eyes. She looked away.
"It's nothing Em, I can't trouble you with anymore things..."
"Just tell me Li." She huffed and looked at me with utter sadness. I felt bad for her. I gave her a moment or two to think about it, but my curiosity edged me to ask.
"What exactly you did Li?" I asked her and looked at her face but it wasn't visible much. All of a sudden darkness draped us. I looked at the sky but found no moon. Huge black clouds swirled at the sky blocking the moonlight. I felt a shiver travelling up my spine.
"I think, we should leave. That's a drastic change in weather." I voiced my opinion to Li.
"Yeah, let's go." With that I took her hand and we stood to leave but soon a thick blanket of fog filling the air with a damp mist that smelled of death and fear. It warped us using its spineless tentacles. It was acting like a giant black eraser, eradicating anything and everything in my line of sight. I held out my other hand in front of my face and watched it getting lost in midst of the mist. A chill crawled up beneath my skin. I started strolling with Lisa's hand towards the gate.
"Wait Em, we are going in the opposite direction." Lisa shouted with fear.
"No, I remember we came this..." I wasn't even able to complete my sentence when her hands were ripped out of mine and I flew back with a force of explosion. I landed on my back, barely hitting my head on a tree. I groaned in pain and blinked furiously trying to see anything. I heard a shriek. Lisa!
"Li, Li." I stood up and called her.
"Run Emma. Get out of the graveyard." Her voice sounded afar.
"Where are you?" I shouted back, feeling hopeless. Nothing was visible.
"Emma, come to me. I am almost at the.......A" I heard a deafening shriek from Li.
"I am coming Lisa. Wait for me." With that I started running in the direction of her voice but I tripped and fell face first. My chin collided with the rough floor and the pain blinded me (even though I was already blind because of the fog). I heard Lisa calling me. I stood up rubbing my chin and ran again.
"Emma just don't go near the shrine. Don't touch the bloody shrine." Lisa shouted from somewhere, her voice fading. What shrine? I never knew this cemetery had a shrine. Nevertheless, I ran, I ran with every might I can, trying hard not to trip on someone's grave which was highly unlikely because I felt the path beneath me to be cemented and not muddy and that is when I collided with something solid, hard and very cold. I fell back, banging my head and darkness engulfed me completely.

Author's Note: Shrine? Is there something wrong with it or was it a totally irrelevant thing? With what did Emma collide? What could drive Em and Li apart like an explosion? AHHHH!! so many question, the answers to which is in the next chapter..hehe
