Erik's P.O.V

When I awoke I was no longer on a rooftop, I was in my home. I dragged my weary body out of the bed I slept in and my head was spinning. I had just learned something shocking but my mind just couldn't remember. My eyes floated along the scenery but stopped short on Sally and all the memories from yesterday rushed back into me.

I tried to come closer but I continued to tumble until she caught me and sat me down in a nearby seat.

"Your-your fr-from-"

"The future. Yes I am." Sally finished.

Wow. That actually explains a lot of things like the Sleeping Beauty song and how distant she is. But the future? It's...it's unreal....

"I...I have no words to describe my shock." I stated.

"It's okay. It's not like you meet someone from a completely different timeline everyday. How was your sleep?" Her voice sounded caring and loving, it touched me. It touched you? Erik your mind is floating adrift pull yourself together you idiot!

"Um.. Erik?"

"Oh. Yes it was fine... I guess. How on earth did I get down here? Did you carry me? No.."

"Well I sort of dragged you... It took awhile but it was done. But getting you into that gondola was harder than I thought. You may find some bruises on you."

"I apologize for the hassle it may have caused you..."

"It's fine." Sally smiled.

We had a long period of silence and I noticed the she was looking at me and I noticed her eyes. Usually when I look at them there just brown, but right now that brown is a gateway to all her emotions. I see kindness, calmness, compassion. I feel lost by simply gazing, but the way she is looking seemed different somehow. She was looking at my face as a whole.... I placed my hand on my disfigured side and didn't feel my mask. Then I frantically started to search for it.

"MY MASK WHERE IS IT?" She's seen me without my mask! Shit!

"Erik. Erik. Calm down, listen, when I was trying to get you into the gondola your mask fell off and is lost in the lake somewhere.... But I think I saw another one somewhere." Sally said in rush trying to settle me down.

I went over to a cupboard and pulled out my extra mask. I slipped it on my monstrosity of a face. She didn't seem that freighted of me, but what am I saying she is probably terrified of being near me. She only here because she's trying to be kind. Is our friendship over? Even though I never intended a romantic relationship with her I did although, hold this friendship very dear to my heart. But alas, it's probably over.

"Leave me, I do not wish to burden you by straying from the world to be with a monster." I said sadly, trying not to look back into her eyes. But my own eyes betrayed me. Her expression stayed the same except now confusion joined in.

"Burden me. What are you talking about?"

"Aren't you scared of me?"

Sally's P.O.V

Jeez Erik is heavy!

I just need to get him onto the gondola, get to the other side of the lake and get him in bed. Sigh.

I looked over at Erik's fainted body and wondered how I would get him into the gondola. Maybe I could drag him in by using his arms. It might work let's give it a shot. With a plan set in my mind I began to follow through it. My god he's heavy! I really hope we don't get in this kind of situation again.

When I put his body that weighted like a thousand tons into the gondola, his head was tilted on the side of the boat and something was beginning to slip. His mask! I lunged over to try to grab it but it was too late, his white mask was now lost in the depths of the water. I turned over and stopped. Erik's hidden side was now open and I could see every detail. Call me weird but as I looked at his deformity I found it beautiful. But I understand that the rest of this vile world doesn't share that opinion that's why he hides it. I can't believe Christine was scared of him, in way he looked innocent. I bent down and gently kissed his "deformed" cheek. A huge rush of emotions rained down on me, emotions I don't like to use.

No! No! Stop that! I began to slap myself like there were flies trying to attack me.

"Me? afraid of you? Didn't we discuss this when we met?" She joked.

"You know what I mean." I answered without a hint of amusement. Sally stood there looking at me like there was nothing wrong.

"Well?" I asked impatiently.

"Well, other than being a criminal, which we've discussed I don't fear, I don't see anything to be afraid of." She answered in a calm voice. She stepped closer to me and my heart began to melt. What is this odd feeling? Sally was now inches away from my face.

"You think that your face is repulsive, vile, ugly, disgusting, that no one should be cursed to look upon it. But that it where you are wrong. I believe that face which you call a monstrosity is beautiful. You heard me, beautiful."

Sally hugged me and said,

"Now I must go to rehearsal."

And I simply stood there in shock. Absolutely dumbfounded. No one has ever said that to me, no Christine not anyone.

"So we're still friends then?" I muttered.

"Of course we are! Could you give me a ride?" She answered.

I nodded and went to the gondola where she was waiting for me.

"Sally?" I asked with my serious voice back in track.

"Yes?"

"Who has the leading role for the new opera?"

"Um..Carlotta I think. Why?"

"Oh nothing."

As much as I enjoy Sally's words about me, I have work to do. Time to pull it together.
