The dream played in a continuous loop for about seven hours of my sleep. Then it changed. The car changed and Stefan changed into Damon. Elena remained the same, though. She just looked so lifeless in the last hour of my sleep. It was so scary, so real. It felt as if I was there, watching every single detail of the crash happen. Poor Elena. Her body looked so lifeless at the end. I thought she was dead. She looked dead. I shuddered at the thought.
I went into the kitchen, looking for some waffles, when a knock came at the door. I put my waffle on the counter and went to answer it. "Dad?!" My dad was with my mom at the door with a car I had never seen before. It looked familiar, though. My dad hugged me,"We know it must have been hard, finding out you were adopted, so we decided to take you home. You shouldn't be alone during this part of your life." I pushed my dad away,"No! I like it way better here than with you guys! You aren't even my parents so you can't make me go!" My mom frowned,"Actually, we can. We adopted you by court laws. And you're only seventeen so you can't do anything yet." Bitch! "Well, I'm not going! You won't even get me to pack one thing!" My dad just smiled,"That's okay! We'll do it for you. Just go wait in the car." I shook my head,"Not going to. If I'm being forced to do this, at least let me say bye to my friends." They hesitated but agreed.
I ran into the Salvatore house, probably for the last time, tears falling slowly from my eyes. Stefan looked up from the kitchen and saw me,"Ella? What's wrong? Are you okay?" I shook my head and hugged him,"My parents. They're making me leave. I hate them! I don't want to go! Call Elena over, please." He nodded and pulled out his phone. "Ella?" I looked up at Damon,"What's wrong?" I started crying even harder,"I'm leaving. My parents are forcing me. Please, don't let them take me." He didn't do anything. He just stood there. I shook my head and turned back to Stefan. He held me close, "Shh... Elena's on her way. God, I really hate your parents right now."
Elena burst through the door, dripping water. She laughed lightly,"You know why I love rain? Because no one can tell you've been crying." I ran to her and hugged her,"Can't Aunt Jenna help me?" Elena shook her head,"She's not my legal guardian yet so she can't do anything." I started violently sobbing right now. I was shaking an everything,"You guys. I love you all so much. You guys are my really family. Stefan, you're like my over protective big brother, one that I've never had but always wanted. Damon, you're like my brother too, except the one that mom and dad kicked out because you were always drunk and we never really wanted you. And Elena, you are the best sister I could ever have. The one I could go to for anything. The one to tell me if I look horrible in a dress, or what to do if some weird bitch sent me a slutty picture, thinking it would hurt me but I just broke her nose again. I love you all so much and it kills me to leave but I'm not eighteen yet, so I can't do crap to stop them. When I leave I expect you all to message me at least thirty times a day. Just, don't forget about me. Promise me that." Elena was the first to promise. Stefan and Damon were next. "Can't you guys hide me until they leave?" Stefan sniffled, yes sniffled,"Wish I could. But that's illegal."
Stefan and Damon decided to take me to the grill one last time before I left. Elena came too of course. I wouldn't have gone if Elena didn't come. At the grill, everyone was trying their hardest to cheer me up. "Guys. Just stop trying to make me happy. If you want to cheer me up, kill me. I'd be happier dead than with those bitches that
I have to call my parents. So please, stab me to death with a fork." Everyone was pretty quiet after that. Elena sighed,"What if I go with them instead? They probably won't notice. I'll just tell them I'm wearing contacts." My eyes filled with tears,"You would really do that for me?" Elena nodded. "I'm really touched but I couldn't possibly let you. It was you that said, everything happens for a reason." Elena laughed a little,"Like punching sluts." I smiled,"Especially punching sluts."
Stefan spoke up,"I have a gift for you. If you're leaving, I want you to take something to remember of." It was a bracelet with the Salvatore family crest on it. Stefan smiled a little,"That way you always know you're part of the family." Damon nodded,"And that you can visit when ever you want. But you better bring presents." I nodded and then took off my vervain necklace and handed it to Elena. "Here, let it protect you. Never take it off." Elena smiled and then put it on,"I wish I had something to give you." I shook my head,"Just wear it at all times and that will be your gift." Elena nodded and a tear fell down her face.
