Melisa
It was getting late and Angela wasn't back yet. I wasn't too worried, she's a strong girl, but Jackson was in fits. When she didn't show up by lights out, that's when we all left to go looking for her. She had texted me at 10:30 that morning, meaning she's been missing for nearly 13 hours.
We drove around the city calling her name. We looked around the mall which was closed and drove around all the nearby bus stations. By midnight Jackson was near hysterics and, to be honest, I was too.
"This is all my fault." Jackson groaned from the backseat
"No, it's NOT! I was the one with her! I should have made sure she got back! I could have meet her at the bus stop or . . . or . . ."
"Melisa, calm down. She couldn't have gotten far. We'll find her. She probably got side tracked and has been sitting in a book store all day. She could be making her way back to camp now." Jacob said, "Besides if anything did happen, she can whoop some ass. Remember last month?"
Last month Jackson had been talking smack about how he could beat Angela at a swim race. Angela won of course, and Jackson flung her over his shoulder walking around and started being annoying. From Angela's position she managed to flip the poor guy into the pool and she landed safely on the deck. Nobody has messed with her since. Eventually Jackson and I hopped out and started wondering the streets looking for her while the rest went home.
We were walking past the same alley way for the 5th time when I saw something move in the darkness. I motioned Jackson closer and we quietly snuck through the shadows.
"Angela?" I whispered
"Melisa?"
I stepped out of the shadows and saw Angela sitting there against the wall. She was covered in bruises, all along her neck, legs, arms, face. The most prominent ones were around her ankles and wrists they looked like . . . rope marks?
"Your bruised everywhere." Jackson said stepping forward, "You ok? Did someone hurt you?"
"Yup, I'm great! How are you? Let's get back to camp, it's got to be lights out." She said quickly starting for the exit
