Charlie

I was dozing off at the front desk of the infirmary when I heard the door open. I cracked my eyes to see Teddy walk down the hall. He must be checking on Maria.

I was just about to slip into dream land when I felt someone tap my shoulder.

"Come on sunshine. Bed time." Teddy said shaking me

"I've got the late shift tonight." I replied pushing him off

"Actually, you had the late shift last night. Then morning classes from 8-12, then you came back here and fell asleep over your homework that is not due until Monday. Today is Friday."

"I thought it was Thursday still."

"Come on."

As Teddy dragged me out I saw Victoria.

"Thank god someone is finally making him leave. He's been here for a week!"

"Have not!" I protested

"Get out, I don't want to see you back here until Monday. Doctor's orders!"

"Boyfriend's orders." Teddy added

"That's not how that works!" I exclaimed

"Come on Sunny."

"What's with the sun nicknames?"

Teddy didn't answer. Nor did he listen to my many other obligations that are way more important than sleep. He simply dragged me to our dorm room and pushed me in bed.

"Now sleep. I'm going to run down to the library and grab a book. If I come back and find you doing anything but sleeping you will be in big trouble."

"Ok." I replied already slipping away.

<*>

"What time is it?" I asked

"11:45." Teddy replied not looking up from his book

"I'm going to grab something from the dining hall. Any requests?" I asked pulling on my shoes

"No, I already ate."

"Ok, I'll see you in a minute."

The dining hall was closed, but we have a 24-hour pizza place. I grabbed one and headed back.

I was halfway home when I heard something russell the bushes. It's so late I didn't think much of it, until I saw a flash of orange.

I turned the flashlight on my phone off and scanned the bushes. I saw a glint of green eyes, but over looked it in hopes of being left alone.

I turned off the flashlight and started walking back home. I stopped. The footsteps behind me stopped too. I took off running. The footsteps followed. I veered away from the dorms, if this man is armed things could go wrong quickly. Instead, I headed to Jackson and Angela's place.

I banged on the door and started dialing Teddy's number. I watched the lights turn on before Jackson appeared at the door.

"W-wha?" He asked yawning. I pushed past him and walked in.

"Lock the door. Some guy . . . followed me . . . orange jumpsuit."

That was enough to get him moving. Jackson locked the door and started running around locking windows and drawing blinds.
