I was surrounded in complete darkness. However I heard my sister's voice behind me. "So you believe me now."
I turned around to see Jinx with a sinister grin plastered on her face. Her glowing yellow eyes pierced through me.
"What do you want, Jinx?" I hissed.
"Hello to you too, sister." She retorted.
I rolled my eyes. "Oh please. You can't do that to me, not after you killed Maya."
Jinx's face fell as she took a step closer. "I didn't kill her, Maya."
She's lying. She has to be. I then shook my head. "No...no, you killed her! I heard you say that you watched the Jedi hunters kill her."
"It was a lie, Storm. I was surrounded by several Jedi hunters, so I was forced to lie to you. I was alone when I found her...I let her go. Now tell me did you feel her die?" Jinx questioned.
I became extremely confused. "No...I felt nothing."
"Exactly, because she isn't dead. Look deep into the force and reach out to her." Jinx suggested.
Reluctantly, I did as she said and surprisingly, I felt my sister, Maya. I gasped as I heard her voice. "Storm, it's Maya. Please help."
I jolted up, opening my eyes as I yelled out. "No! Maya!"
I glanced around to find myself in a room different than the helicarrier. I winced as I slowly got up. What happened?
"Maya? Who is she?"
I froze. That voice...As soon as I heard Loki's voice coming from the door, I immediately remembered what happened. I turned towards him as I narrowed my eyes at him. "You! How dare you! I trusted you."
"And what are you reproaching me for?" Loki inquired.
"The others warned me about you, but when we spoke...I believed there was good in you. But then you do this to me...and prove me wrong."
Loki then slowly made his way towards me. "And I told you that I must do this."
"What will you gain from this, Loki? You won't win over anyone's love like this." I informed him. "Everyone will fear you, Loki, everyone will hate you."
"Everyone already hates me." He replied in a low voice.
I violently shook my head. "That's not true, Thor cares and loves you."
Loki scoffed, but nevertheless I continued. "What about your mother? Frigga? You told me so much about her. I bet she cares and loves for you deeply."
Loki kept his head down as he spoke. "She does care about me. I learned my illusions and sorcery from her..."
"And I don't hate you." I added, mustering up the courage to say that.
Upon hearing my words, Loki's head snapped up, and his eyes met mine. "Really? You don't?"
"How could I? You are the only who understands what I'm going through, and how I feel about it." I revealed. "And...to answer your question, Maya is my twin sister. I thought she was dead...I thought my older sister, Jinx killed her. But I felt her through the force...she's still out there somewhere."
Loki placed his hands in mine. "Storm, you should calm down. I don't doubt you can find her, but you will gain nothing if you work yourself up like this."
I nodded. "You're right. Thanks Loki."
He then flashed me a genuine and warm smile. "Glad I could help, Storm."
I then smiled back, but it vanished when I remembered what Loki was planning on doing.
"You still plan on doing this, don't you?" I asked.
Loki hesitated. "I have no other choice, Storm."
"There's always another way out." I urged.
"Not this time." He argued. "I must finish what I started."
He then stormed off, leaving me alone in the room. Once Loki left, I pulled out my locket that my mother gave to me. I opened it up to find the Orb of Passage in their along with a photo of my mother, my father, Jinx, Maya, and me...and my younger brother, Alotren who was taken from us many years ago by the Dathomirians. I feared that he may have turned into another Jinx, but I have not heard from him in so many years. And as for my father, Tâtsâ, tried searching for Alotren a few years back...and even since then my family had not heard a word from him, causing mom to become devastated. I found him again on Batuu, but it didn't take the Empire long to destroy that reunion.
My father looked like an Echani would with pale skin...and now looking back in the past when Jinx, Maya, and I were brought to the Jedi Temple, Master Yoda informed us that he sensed something dark in us, which wasn't our fault, but it was hidden due to our origins. However Master Yoda never went into details as he replaced what I now know as the Sith alchemy from us and in its place, he used the Force to bring forth the light side of the Force. He saw the good in us and changed us to keep us from going down the wrong path. But going back to dad...He looked more like a Dathomirian Nightsister than a male Dathomirian Zabrak. Was that even possible? I felt so betrayed by my own mother. How could she not tell us what our dad truly was.
"It hurts being lied to, doesn't it?" Jinx's voice reaches my ears.
I sighed. "What do you want now?"
"For you to return, sister. You still have the orb." Jinx commented with a mysterious smile.
"Why? So you can kill me?" I scoffed.
"Of course not. Storm, I would never do that." Jinx tried assuring me.
"Then why are you with the Sith?" I questioned.
Jinx hesitated. "I...well, it's complicated."
"How in the blazes is it complicated, Jinx?" I asked, rather intrigued. "Please enlighten me dear sister."
"Listen Storm, I'll make things right." She assured me. "Just give me some time, alright?"
I raised an eyebrow. "And how will you do that, huh? You can't fix what's been done."
"But you can change what your next move is." Jinx pointed out.
And that was the last thing she said before she left. I thought about her words as I glanced down at the picture of my family unsure of what to do. I looked up at the ceiling. What do I do? My family is completely scattered and I wish to return...but my friends need me here.
