Valentines Day

Yes i know. Its late.

Valentines Day was yesterday,

It was okay.
It wasn't the best,
But unlike any of the rest.

There was tears, fears
Lying and crying.
Smiles faded,
And laughter died.

We couldnt stay in place,
All we could do was pace,
To ignore the pain,
The sorrow of heartbreak.

From a beautiful ring,
To a painful sting

Papers dropping to the floor like crashing waves,
Hitting dead center,
It couldnt have missed her.

Trying to calm down as your heart pounds,
Wanting everything,
Everyone!
To just go away,
Like that would somehow make things okay.

To make the pain disappear,
Like it wasnt her number one fear.
And as the lights went down,
There wasnt a sound.

As Valentines Day came to an end ,
The holiday had struck again.

But this time.

The pain wouldnt just go away.
Like that cold, rainy
Valentines Day.
