۩ - Chapter 14

The rest of the heroes look up, raising their weapons and readying themselves for the next fight. "I... I don't see how that's a party..." The redhead stated unsuerly.

"Neither do I." Was Diana's reply to Natasha as she internally recited the reasons Stark was a valuable teammate and not to be used as target practice or held completely responsible for all the destruction.

Tony swooped down the street. The whale-like beast followed, barreling down the street at a high speed that Diana was almost certain it'd hit the ground before it would reach them. The momentum of the leviathan kept building and building its intensity.

Cap looked at Bruce, who was currently looking like a fish out of water. "Dr. Banner. Now might be a really good time for you to get angry."

"That's my secret, Captain. I'm always angry." As he said that Dr Banner started to twitch and soon his body shifts into a massive green creature, Diana looked upon the Hulk with wide, fearful eyes before realising that he was just another to aid them in the fight for Manhattan. 

The Hulk flung himself around just in time to nail the Chitauri right on the nose, the creature flipped onto it's back, Tony, in mid-flight, extended his arm out and unleashed a rocket from the metal suit, "Hold on." The rocket slammed into the Chitauri's exposed skin as it's armour fell to the ground.

An explosion rocked the leviathan and the Avengers ducked for cover as guts, debris and other stuff went flying, Clint hid behind a flipped car, Steve covering Nat with his star-spangled shield and Diana raising her shield above her head and unconsciously being held protectively by the Thunder god.

From above and on the buildings, other Chitauri watch in horror of their former comrade as group Earth's mightiest heroes formed a circle of sorts. More creatures begin to fly from the portal. "Guys," Natasha warns them.

"Call it, Cap."

"Alright, listen up. Until we can close that portal, our priority is containment. Barton, I want you on that roof, eyes on everything, call out patterns and strays. Stark, you've got the perimeter, anything more than three blocks out, you turn it back or you turn it to ash."

"Wanna give me a lift?" Hawkeye said to Tony.

"Right, better clench up Legolas." And with that statement done Mr Stark grabbed Clint and flew up into the sky.
