At a recent meet, a fan discussed with Nova that she was having a hard time in school and that her parents were very strict about her grades. The fan said that she was her teachers and classmates thought that she was dumb because of her struggle with reading out loud and continuously having spelling errors. Nova then opened up to the fan, saying that she struggles with the same things. Nova told the fan that she has dyslexia, which is a learning disability, but that does not mean that a dyslexic is dumb or stupid.
Nova says that it upsets her that dyslexia is not well recognized in Korea. Kids who have dyslexia in Korea are just labeled as stupid or lazy or slow. Nova revealed that she was diagnosed with dyslexia before she and her family moved to South Korea and that it was difficult for her and her parents to explain it to her teachers, who never gave her a chance. But now that she's an idol, she thinks, "Look at me now, bitches."
Yeah. idk either. I wanted to post a real update, but the things that I'm working on right now are a lengthy process to write. So I quickly wrote this up for y'all. I do have dyslexia, so I feel strongly about this stuff.
