It's been about a week since I started staying at Liam's. Apparently his parents were coming home tonight and they still had no idea I was staying here. I told Liam to tell them but he didn't listen.Liam and I were at his thinking place because he wanted to get away from things. It was nice to be out here and not have to worry about anything.
"Kitten?" Liam broke our comfortable silence.
"Yes?"
"Do you think I'm a bad person?" What? Why would he ask that? Since when did he care?
"What do you mean?" I sat up and looked at him. He was staring at the sky.
"Am I a bad person? Like do I seem like I'm a bad person?"
"Liam, you're not a bad person you've just made some mistakes. Everyone makes them. It doesn't make you a bad person." He was still staring at the sky. His eyes never left it. "Why would you even ask that?"
"I feel like I've done such bad things and that makes me a bad person."
"What bad things have you done that would make you think that?" He looked at me when I asked that question. His eyes were staring deeply into mine.
"If I told you, you wouldn't talk to me anymore."
"Try me." He looked to be in deep thought.
"I joined a gang, which you know, but the things I've done for them are terrible. I've sold and done drugs, I've been in many fights, sold guns to criminals, and I've...never mind."
"No, not never mind. Tell me. You can trust me. I promise I won't stop talking to you because I know the real you." He sat up and his back was to me now.
"I've killed someone." What? Did I hear him right? There's no way I heard him right. There's just no way, right?
"What?" I didn't shout the question. It was more of confusion. Did he really kill someone?
"I killed someone. I had no choice. My boss threatened the girl I was with and I tried my hardest to hide our relationship. But some how he found out about us and he told me if I didn't kill this guy who had been killing members of the gang then he would kill her. I couldn't let that happen and so I did what he asked. The girl didn't know about the gang so after I killed him, I told her about everything and she flipped. She broke it off with me and never spoke to me again. It broke me and so I started fighting illegally to ease the pain."
"You loved her, didn't you?" I already knew the answer. I don't know why I asked. It was obvious.
"Yeah, I did." The words that came out of his mouth made my heart sting. It was like he had slapped me in the face but not really. I had no idea why they hurt so much. I didn't even know him like I do now. "But that was in the past. I have no idea where she is now and I'm over her."
"So do you really sleep around? Or is that just for show?"
"It was for show while I was with her, but then it became real after she left. But I haven't slept with anyone since, well since you came along." That made my heart thump faster. "But we should probably go home before my parents get there."

"Mom, Dad. Glad you're back."
"Hello son, how are you?" My mother asked me as she pulled her suitcase in behind her.
"I'm good. Umm can we talk real quick." My mom dropped her bag next to the door and my dad sat down on the couch.
