"You what?" Did I hear him right? Did he really just say what I think he said? There's no way that I heard him right. There's no way he likes me. He doesn't do feelings. Well anymore he doesn't.

"I like you and I told myself I'd never let myself get in this position again after the first time. After I had fallen in love the first time I said I'd never let myself get hurt again. But there's something about you that makes me feel like I'm a different person. You have something about you that just brightens the room and I like that. Fuck I wish I had never let my feelings show so you wouldn't be in this mess." He rambled on and on. I don't know what possessed me to do what I did next but I went for it anyway.

I walked towards him and put my hands on his face and told him to shut up. I brought his face closer to mine and let our lips meet. There were no cliche fireworks but my heart sped up immensely. My heart tightened and I felt like every problem was gone. His lips were warm and comforting against mine.

We pulled apart for a breath of air. His arm was on my waist still as mine were around his neck. We were still standing on the sidewalk and there was no sign of those guys.

"So what now?" I was the first to break the silence.

"Right now I need to get you home." He drove me to my house and I was relieved to see that my father's car was not here, meaning he was gone.

"Do you want to come in?" I offered to Liam as I didn't feel like being alone at the moment.

He nodded his head and I let us both in. I told Liam to make himself comfortable while I went and changed into something comfortable.

I went upstairs to my room and started to change into a light long sleeve shirt. My upper arm had a bruise on it in the shape of a hand.

I was only wearing my pants and a bra when I heard Liam's voice. "What's on your arm?" Oh shit. I didn't want him to find out. I quickly tired to put my shirt on but I was stopped by Liam. "What happened to your arm Sam?"

"Nothing." It obviously wasn't a good lie but I didn't know what else to say."

"Bullshit. What happened?" I knew that he wouldn't let this go so I figured I might as well tell him.

"My dad came home drunk and I tried to go to my room but he grabbed me and he wouldn't let go." Liam's face went from concern to pissed off in the matter of a second.

"Why didn't you call me?"

"I didn't want you to find out. What would you have even been able to do anyway?"

"I would have come and gotten you."

"And taken me where Liam? You heard your parents, they don't want me to stay there." I finally was able to put my shirt on so I wasn't standing here without one anymore.

"I don't care what they say. All I care about is that you're safe. I'll tell them that you're staying with me and I don't care what they have to say."

"Liam I'm fine here."

"No you're not. Between you father and the gang you'll be safer with me."

"I don't want to make your parents upset." I walked over to my dresser and took out a pair of sweats. I walked over to my bathroom and closed the door so I could change.

"Then stay with Nick. He lives on his own and he'll let you stay there. That way you're away from here and you're at a safe place."

I walked out of the bathroom and stood in the doorway. Liam walked over to me and put his hands around my waist.
