LIL'S POV

The rest of the day went by seemingly perfect. Instead of going home as originally planned, Sam, Devinn, Max, Skyler and I all went to Lou's house. We laughed and played pool for hours, but eventually we got tired and decided to watch a movie.

After quite a lot of bickering, we all finally agreed on watching "The Purge." I curled up next to Sam on the couch and rested my head on his shoulder as he protectively wrapped his arm around my shoulders, pulling me closer.

About halfway though the movie, I already had my head buried in Sam's chest as if I would die if I looked at the tv. All of the sudden, my phone began to vibrate in my pocket, I unglued myself from Sam, breaking his concentration on the screen. He gave me a steady, yet knowing gaze as I pulled my phone from my pocket to check caller ID. Much to my surprise and rather unusually, It was my mother calling.

Hesitantly, I get up from the comfort of the couch and walk up the stairs as not to bother anyone else with my phone call.

"Hello?" I answer questioningly

"Hi Lil, It's Mom, where are you dear?"

"At Lou's house, We were just watching a movie. Why is everything alright?" I ask panicked. She never calls me usually.

"Yea, everything's ok, I just wanted to check up on you and let you know that I left work early because I'm not feeling too well." She takes a deep breath after speaking only causing me to panic a little more. Is she short of breath?

"Are you alright, do you want me to come home?"

"Yes I'm fine, it's only a migraine. You stay and have fun with your friends. Tell Sam I say hello, too." She takes another long breath.

"Ok I will." I say very cautiously.

"Alright, sweetie. I'm gunna go lay down. Don't stay out too late! Love you!"

"I love you, too. Bye."

"Is everything alright?" I hear Sam's voice ask from behind me. I didn't realize he had followed me up here. He wore a concerned expression and his mouth was pressed into a hard line.

"Yea, I mean I don't know, that was really weird." I confess.

He doesn't say another word. Slowly, he approaches me and takes me into his arms. My muscles relax as he rubs small circles into my back and I lay my head onto his shoulder.

"You realize that this is the first time we've been alone all day right." He whispers seductively causing me to giggle slightly.

Lazily, he kisses my forehead and then my cheek before gently pressing his lips against mine. His hands drop from my back down to my hips. I can feel sparks erupting as our lips mold together perfectly.

Slowly, he pulls away and as soon as he does I wish he hadn't. He leans his forehead against mine and looks into my eyes intently.

"What?" I ask giggling.

"It's just....I've loved you for so long, Lil." He says genuinely, looking into my eyes. I can feel my eyes go wide as he speaks. The emotion behind his voice tugs at my heart.

"Sam, I've always loved you. Even when I was with him, it was you. It's always been you." I wrap my arms around him again. The stand still that I have so longed for finally comes, as time seems to freeze with his arms around me.

I kiss him on the cheek before braking from his warm embrace. As much as I wanted to stay with him something was telling me I needed to get home.

"I think I'm gunna head home." I sigh as I head towards the door with Sam in tow.
