"Happy Birthday to you! Happy Birthday to you! Happy dear Sam! Happy Birthday to you!"

All of us sing as Sam's cake arrives at our table. He of course decided to eat at Mel's and Alex, Jill, Jena, Caleb, Jess and I were piled around a table.

After cake, Sam opened his presents from the other contestants. Alex and Jill had got him a bunch of vinyl records he was ecstatic about. I wasn't planning on giving him his present until we got back to the hotel room. It would be pretty obvious what I had gotten him if I carried the guitar case into the restaurant.

The day could've been considered perfect, if I didn't know the truth. It hung over me like a cloud that I couldn't escape. Every time he smiled at me all I could see was him with her. The ache in my chest grew with each twinkle in his eye. I could barely hold myself together.

I couldn't wait to just get back to the hotel and go to bed. I wasn't sure how much longer I would be able to keep my composer.

Finally, our bedroom door closed behind us and I flung myself on to our bed. I couldn't help but let my mind wonder as Sam was in the bathroom. Suddenly, I landed on the memory of Sam and I the night of his party. I wondered if he would try to sleep with me now after what he's done. A part of me wanted so deeply to know. I honestly thought I was ready to be with him, but now who knows?

I hear the shower turn off and within minutes Sam reappears wearing only his jeans. He wears a cheeky smile as he lays down next to me, slinging his arm around my waist before kissing the back of my neck.

"Now, where's that secret present
you were telling me about." He whispers with a smile in his voice.

"Its in the closet." I say, sitting up to watch his reaction.

Hesitantly, I watch as he makes his way across the room before slowly pulling open the door of the closet. Instantly, his eyes light up.

"Lil, you didn't!" He nearly shouts in excitement pulling the black case from it's hiding place. Carefully, he places it on the bed as I stand to meet him.

I expect him to rip open the case, but I'm surprised when he stops. He stares longingly at me for a moment before snapping open the case to reveal a black vintage Gibbson. His eyes grow wide with shock, "Lil, this is amazing, I...I don't even know what to say. Thank you." The shock behind his voice is apparent.

"You're welcome!" I say smiling up at him as his gaze meets mine. He smiles back at me before leaning in, "The best birthday present is having you here with me."

"This is the first time we've been completely alone all day." I say seductively, removing the guitar case from the bed.

"I love you." He whispers and before I even have time to answer his lips are pressed to mine.

I escape my own mind. In the moment it doesn't matter what Josh has done to me in the past. It doesn't matter that Sam cheated. I have him now and I love him. I only want him.

Gingerly, Sam leans me back onto the bed continuing to kiss down my neck. He stops only for moment to pull off my top. My hands run through his hair as his lips meet mine again.

I flip over on top of him and continue to kiss down his neck stoping only for a moment to fumble with the button on my jeans. When I look down at him, however something in his eyes has changed.

"Lil, I can't do this to you." He says breathlessly, choking on the tears he's holding in. I sit down on the bed next to him as he gets up and walks over to the window.

"Did you sleep with Emily?" I breathe out in defeat, the tears culminating in my eyes.

He spins around quickly to face me. "Lil, I can explain." He begs me, tears already spilling onto his cheeks.
