The pitter patter of tiny feet echoed throughout the house.

I felt cole wrap his arm around my waist and lay them there.

"Cole, make yourself useful and grab Colby's birthday cake out of the fridge."

He laughs and grabs the cake. "stop messing with the decorations everything looks fine."

I look up at him. "you think he will like it?"

He laughs," Brooke, there is call of duty stuff all over. of course he will like it."

I nod," okay."

Cole carries the cake out to the patio where Colby is playing with his friends.

Cole sets the birthday cake on the table and walls over to Colby and picks him up and tossing him in the air.

"Happy birthday Colby." he said.

I smiled. my baby was turning four.

I looked over at heather, who had Cameron's arms rested on her baby bump.

Cameron and heather had both recently graduated from Stanford.

Colby ran up to me and asked,"when can we have cake?"

"Whenever you're ready buddy."

"Now!" he shouted. I laughed at his enthusiasm, "go get Dallas and Grey. and Grammy and pappy. okay?"

He took off running inside, showing up in a few seconds with everyone else.

"Alright let's do this!"

I smiled and light his 5 candles. 4 for the age and 1 for good luck.

He tapped his foot impatiently as everyone sang 'happy birthday'.

He blew out his candles and then stuck to fingers in the icing.

"Yummy."

"Colby, now what did we say about sticking fingers in icing?" cole asked.

"It was an accident?" he said with a sheepish smile.

I laughed," Colby do you want chocolate or vanilla?"

"Chocolate!" He screamed.

I laughed an gave him his cake, serving everyone else theirs too.

Once everyone finished Colby sat in his 'special' chair for presents.

He opened one from Cameron and heather an his face light up in joy," an Xbox! with cally dutie!! it's awesome! thank you Cameron,heather, and the baby heather swallowed."

Everyone laughed at the last thing he said, but Cameron and heather said 'you're welcome' threw the laughter.

In the end Colby got clothing, remote control cars, An Xbox and games, and a whole lot of Legos.

I swear his floor is completely covered in those little devils.

You don't know pain until you step on one of those little suckers.

Cameron and heather stayed until it was time for Colby to go to bed.

"Colby I think it time to go to bed buddy. it's 10:23."

He nodded and said his good night to cole and I.

He then walked over to Cameron and Heather and hugged Cameron," goodnight Cameron."

He hugged heather." goodnight heather." And he stood on his tippy toes and kissed her stomach," good night paris." He said. he walked up the stairs, not another word said and went to his room.

4 months later.

We all sat impatiently in the living room of Cameron and heather's house.

When the pack doctor finally stepped out of the bedroom cole and I shot up and walked in Colby trailing behind us.

The twins stayed with my mom because they wouldn't be able to sit that long.

We stood there in awe looking at little Paris.

Colby looked at heather and asked," Hold her?"

She nodded and Cameron pulled him up and sat him on the bed, then carefully placing Paris in Colby's arms.

"You got her little man?"Cameron asked.

"Who you calling little man? my muscles are bigger than yours."

Cameron laughed and patted his back, "okay. What ever you say."

Cole looked at Colby and said," can daddy hold her?"

Colby looked at him and said," no, she's mine."

Everyone smiled and Cole backed away, putting his arms up in defense.

Eventually cole, Colby and I left, leaving the newly parents by themselves.

I looked at the two boys behind me and thinking about the twins i smiled knowing I had the best family.

It's finally over! I promised myself no tears!

This story may not be the best, but its my story!

I am going to be making a story about Colby and his mate! its going to be called 'chasing after her.'
