Chapter 29- A Future Worth Living

Fae stands within her home. Her wobbly legs bring her to a seat situated in the corner of the large living room. Large windows radiate warmth within her home.
Fae's body grows cold as the world sets at dusk. She closes her eyes, her breaths uneasy. Doyle and Bugger sleep at her feet. Doyle raises his head. His luminous gold eyes dull as he suddenly whines for his master. Almost the same as saying "are you alright?". Fae couldn't find the strength to muster.
"I-I can't go much longer Doyle. Someone needs to take care of the tree whenever I'm gone." Fae mumbles uncomfortably and places her hand upon the wall. Her runes light up as does the tree.

From outside, the night has been setting in enough for the light of the tree to be the main source of light.
Orion and Lyra watch as the tree lights up with life, as bright as a star. Many creatures admire this as well.

Fae sits inside, almost lifeless as the night sets in.

The day time is her rising period. She hates to acknowledge the tree as a prison of her livelyhood yet, that's all her life ever was. Being the victim to something she has no control of, first her age and now... this tree.. the source of her life.

Doyle nudges his nose in Fae's warm hand before she sleeps through the night. Doyle whined for his master to return soon.

The power of the tree became in tune with Fae's power. Her wings and skin pale as the moon shows itself.

Fae's slumber calls for the night.

Lyra holds Orion. She's stiff with a blush. Her face is fully within his chest. The light of the tree illuminates their body's from a far, like a flame of a fire.

She grips the back of him, not knowing what her next move would be.

He's her first kiss.

Orion leans down once more and pushes her closer to him for a deeper embrace.
Lyra's thoughts advert suddenly to Maria. Maria's form in their nightmare.

Lyra gasps and withdraws from Orion.

"W-what is it? Did I do something wrong? I-"

"N-no." Lyra's eyes gleamed red. Orion's gleamed back. "Maria." She choked on her words. Lyra doesn't wish to bring her up, to ruin this moment between them. Orion's face turns.
"The nightmare. Her face and- and-" Lyra starts to shake. Everytime she closes her eyes, Maria's twisted face of evil is shown before her.
"She isn't alive." Orion somehow found peace within his sentence.

He's finally moved on.

Lyra couldn't believe him. His passion for her wasn't within him anymore? How could she be so sure?

"S-she's the reason you're here." Lyra held her arm in defeat. He loved Maria, how could she replace her.

"I'm the reason I'm here. Never her." They looked on another in the eye.

"I'll prove myself." A smug grin is applied to his face. Lyra then holds her face in a quiet squeal.
"I never had anything like this." She started to laugh nervously. Orion managed to wash away all of the thoughts of Maria within her.
Orion simply kissed her cheek.
"I'm your first huh?" Orion made Lyra shove him away playfully as he grinned.
"Shut up." Lyra didn't know how to act. Instead, she trailed back to the guest home, getting a glimpse behind her as Orion followed. The elemental tree had shone through the night.
Orion closed the door behind him. Lyra looked around for food, being successful and placing it before them.
"Dinner." Lyra did her best to distract herself from them. Dried meat lays upon the table before them. Lyra awkwardly ate at the table while Orion roams the house, looking at all the little decorations.
He hangs his back low while he eats up the last of his meal. Lyra takes small bites then chomps it all up abruptly. This catches Orion'a attention. Lyra runs up the stairs. "Goodnight!" Her face in a blush.
She slams the door behind her, thankfully there is two rooms. She sighs in relief, sliding down the door.
"Fuck fuck fuck." She exhales. What's her goal anymore? Why is she even on this journey for the artifact of a place that doesn't even enjoy her presence. Who is she doing this for?
