"Mother?"

"Yes, love?"

"Wow... love? That's the first time you've called me that. You must be so happy today," she beamed at her mother, happy that her mother finally called her by her favorite word, a word she hadn't heard from her in years.

Her mother stayed quiet, and even shot her a deadly glare.

She never got to ask for what she wanted in the first place.

"Mother?" she called again, this time with hopes that her mother would call her by that sweet word again.

"Yes, lo-" her mother stopped midway. It was almost as if she didn't want to say the word, as if calling her daughter by that would mean the end of the world.

Instead, she continued with a rather harsh tone, "What do you want?"

She wanted to say something, she really did. But that was the day she discovered what true heartbreak felt like.

does she really hate me that much? she couldn't even bring herself to call me, love? does this mean she doesn't love me anymore? am i really incapable of being loved?

yes, love?
