"Whats going on?" I asked again, slamming my fist down on the table.
They both jumped up from the table.
"Shay, calm down please honey." my mother pleaded.
"Honey?" I asked.
"After ten years of abuse, you have the nerve to call me honey?" I was getting angrier by the minute.
Watching them take a step back at my outburst, I took a step closer.
"I will calm down after you give me the answers that I deserve," I said calmly, still on the edge of another outburst.
Sitting down at one of the chairs at the family table, I placed my hand on top of the table and softly tapped the surface. Waiting.
My mother was first to speak, but everything she said spilled from her lips were all a jumble of words that made no sense.
"Ididaverybadbadisobadsorry."
"What?" I said confused, taking my hand off of the table and resting it on my lap.
"Your mother cheated and you are the baby of a mistake." I father said softly, but when looking at him, you could tell it still angered him. His eyebrows had turned down to a scowl and a vein at his temple had popped and was pulsating.
"Yes your father is right Shay." my mother said finding her voice again.
"So your not my dad," I asked feeling hurt all over again.
"well it makes sense, I guess, the abuse. But it doesn't explain you." I said turning towards my mother.
My eyes must have turned red again, because as I stared at my mother, her eyes grew big with shock and she took a few steps back, putting the table between us.
"About ten years ago, one night your father and I decided to have a date and we ran into your father, your real father." said my mother.
"Well it wasn't accidental, he had been watching us, not just me and your mother, but our whole family." my dad said sounding sad.
"He's the one to tell us that you were his, I didn't believe him until he handed me a picture of his mother, sister, and his grandmother. You were like their twin."  said my mom.
"We still didn't believe it though. So the next day we took some of your hair and had a fraternity test ran on it. And we'll it was true. You were his daughter and not mine." my father said starting to get angry.
